What tree is this

This is our river birch and ours drops twigs constantly, too. Looks like our bark is thinner but definitely some similarities in leaves. Does it drop leaves too w/o a lot of rain? RB love the water and a week with out rain starts to stress and leaves drop pretty quick. Not all but a fair amount.

Looks similar in leaf type and yes it has already dropped a bunch this past week due to no rain. Only difference is the bark but as some have mentioned it may be due to the soils and locale.

I wood (get it?, wood?) guess River Birch. Old River Birch trees have a courser bark. They lose the paper shedding bark. The serrated leaves are birch and it's growing in a cluster which is birch-ish.

So the overwhelming majority are leaning towards river birch. On that note is there pruning or trimming that will tone down the incessant limb shedding or is it a chainsaw stump grinder kind of thing? Is the wood worth anything to anybody? (My guess is no)

It's a deciduous hard wood.. probably worth more to someone with a sawmill than to someone for fire wood, though it'll burn.
