I've been using a double edge safety razor and shave secret oil instead of shave cream for almost 2 years. Best shave ever, no razor burn and costs way less than the Gillette Mach that I threw away.
 
Ive said it here before.

Mach 3.
Shave in the shower.
Let the razor hang and dry. Razor lasts usually 2-3 months.

Single blade. Stole it from my dad when I left home 35 years ago. Only one I've ever used (when I choose to use it).

I'll break down on occasion and use a disposable but feel like I'm using a garden rake.

Once you get your skin conditioned to a straight you will never look back. I shake like a leaf until i get to my face then I'm stone cold steady.

I shave in the shower, no mirror. No mustache or goatee to worry about, just swipe over everything.

I use a Murad Man shaving lotion, it kicks the snot out of any shaving cream I have ever used and lasts forever on a tube. Have to get it from the fancy stores.
 
I refuse to go beardless. Luckily, my neck doesn't need trimming. It gets to a certain place and stops growing. I use my clippers to clean it up. I'm low maintenance.
