What's on your feet...

Ariat Rambler steel toe with an orange Superfeet trim to fit. Been wearing this boot or a version of it for 4 years now with that insole. 8+ hours a day in my warehouse, on convention center floors and whatever my weekend entails.

Wow, I figured I would be a loner with the Keen post -

I've a pair of Detroit Mids (steel toe, Keen Dry) that are perfect for cooler seasons, and currently wear a pair of Detroit lows (steel toe) since they are breathable. I also have some Targhee II's which are as far as I can tell the same as the Detroits aside from some aesthetic stuff - mids and lows.

Good info guys!

Related - socks:
I highly recommend Darn Tough socks. They are made of merino wool and come in any size and shape. They are expensive per pair, but they are guaranteed for LIFE - I have already mailed some back, within about a week got a new pair, no questions asked.
I never wear cheap cotton socks anymore - the awesome thing about merino wool is that they wick moisture away and dry very quickly, and are still comfy on hot summer days and warm in the winter. And they don't get stinky nearly as fast so I can wear them 2 days in a row w/o any problems. That's all I wear now.

I will have to check these out. I wonder if they make underwear....

. I got mine at a discount boot store in Ashville. They were cheaper there than any place local or internet. Within the $150 range.

That sounds like the place where I go to get my boots. Guess I will be headed there soon to try some on. I did find the Keen Tacomas online for like $89 the other day but I would love to try a pair on first. I normally don't wear a composite toe boot because of working on roofs and kneeling down alot but I think this some type of hybrid that might work pretty good.

Try on and wear what is comfortable. I e found that anything I bought for less than $150 had been pure crap and either fallen apart at 3 months or made my feet hurt.

That's what sold me in the store on the Timberlands, they just felt better than anything I tried on. Why I would buy them again is because they fixed the plantar fasciitis the logger heel Chippewa boots caused.

Morgan's in Gastonia has a pretty decent selection of Keen stuff if you are ever down this way.

another vote for KEEN, just "re-booted" and replaced the last pair, year old, I'm pulling the lace eyes out and have worn the soles out ( they need an "E" load rating )

I'll wear them "stock outta the box" for about a week to loosen them up, then get a pair of insoles from MERREL outlet store. like walking on fucking clouds !

good second choice for me are REDBACK off the Matco truck, they wear pretty well as well. but our Matco guy is absentee so screw him !

Find american made boots. im wearing a pair of keens I got over in pigeon forge. They had some made over seas that werent half the shoe the made in USA pair was. Its hard to find good amerrican made boots are but well worth it. Not to go political but if we dont start supporting each other we're screwed.

Keen or danner grouse for me. Can't stand redwings they kill my feet. Pay the extra money for the us made danner. I've had one pair for two years they are shot now but I still use them around the house

this is the danners after 2 years of constant abuse. I'm bad to kick my toe into the top of steps or anything to clean the bottoms off. I also was really slack about oiling these

image.jpg I wear the diehards. They're not very expensive but they are comfortable, light weight and i have had them for a year doing mobile tractor trailer repair. (The pic is from the web, not the ones i am currently wearing)

Keen FTW. Owned about four pairs. Each last nine months and I'm hard on them, being a mobile service guy. I joke and say my hourly rate depends on how close I can get my truck to whatever I'm working on.. but seriously over 5 steps to my Jeep really cuts into time on jobs and adds miles on my foot wear. I also have extra wide feet which keen accounts for, as well my toes are nearly square cut with respect to my foot. I love keen shoes/boots as long as they aren't steel or composite toe.. learned that one in the winter and summer. I'll take my chances for my feet not to freeze or swelter. Oh and they have excellent traction.

Also, I'll mention that on any boots of mine that are leather, they get 4 coats of Sno-Seal. Apply one coat, soak in with a heat gun, and apply another. I've got 5 year old boots that haven't cracked and are still water proof.

The Sno-Seal along with the toe guard will make your boots last way longer!

If you find a boot you love after it's broke in, buy second pair and wear them every other day. Both pair of boots will last a lot longer than 1 pair and you'll have happy feet each morning w fresh dry boots aired out +/-36 hrs.

I love my red wings nothing else has fit as well and even with a steel toe my toes don't get cold in the winter. Have to buy the made in USA pairs though the others don't last. In their store displays and online it will say either not made in USA, assembled in USA from imported materials, or made in USA.

I'm on concrete about 80 hours a week. I've worn Red wings, wolverines durashocks, timberland pros. The red wings were the most uncomfortable boots I've ever had. The durashocks last me almost a year. The timberland about the same but are lighter. I've got 8 months on a set of Keens and I've been very pleased so far.

That was the problem with Danners I had, their sole construction was not designed for toe kickin' walls into place. Hopefully I will start taking better care of my boots too.

Here's what I'm on now .....definitely could use a new insole, but my feet still feeling good after a day of climbing around yesterday.

Think I'll go try on every boot you guys are wearing this weekend and see how they stack up

I have to wear steel toes at work and I am in oil all the time.
Dr. Martens Industrial Ironbridge works best for me.
For me it's the best price ,comfort, durability package, and now I'm trying KG's toe guard on the toes and sealing the welts to keep oil out.

Normally , the oil eventually gets in and kills your feet and the antimicrobial insoles goes superfunk with the oil.

That toe guard is some tough stuff! Especially if you use the whole bottle on one pair of boots.

Georgia boots. I don't wear them every day for work, but I have had these for probably 8 years. Used to be my casual boots, but are now my everything around the house boots.

Best pair of boots so far!!! Takes some time to break them in but after that they are very comfortable!!! I am a equipment mechanic in the field and on my feet all day , plus they are water proof!!

Sketchers work wear. I love these. Like wearing regular shoes but with comp toe, electrically rated and slip resistant. They look Good with shorts as well.
