What's on your feet...

I've been through so many different boots I can't count them all. After many years of standing on concrete 10+ hours a day I got to the point that my feet felt like all the bones in them were broken when I took them off at the end of the day. A friend recommended I try boots with a wedge sole. It was the best thing I ever did. Started with an 80.00 pair of diehard boots from sears and they lasted 3 years of daily abuse. When they finally got retired a couple months ago I decided to invest in top quality American made wedge sole boots with hopes that I'd get even more life out of them.

I went and tried on Redwings and couldn't get my fat foot in them. I tried on Danner boots and didn't like how stiff they felt. All the keen boots i could find looked way too chunky for my taste and weighed a ton. I ended up buying a pair of thorogoods and will probably never buy anything else.
I wear them all the time. Even have 2 pairs. One for work and one that stays nice to wear out.

Well I made it to the discount boot store in Asheville. Time was limited so I didn't get a whole lot of time to try everything on like I wanted too. All the Keen I found were mostly steel toe or hiking. I tried on one pair of the steel toed Keens and they actually felt good just to bulky and heavy for me too. Also do they run about a size bigger than normal?

I would like to have found some of the Thorogood American Heritage Wedges to try on @MarsFab but they didn't have any.

I was disappointed when I went to the Timberland section to find the 8" helix on sale for $90 only to be out of my size......All hope was lost. Looked around a little more, tried on some Irish Setters that looked and felt good.

Made my way to the clearance rack and spotted some out of the box helix that turned out to be my size :bounce2:. I figured I better stick with these this time, since they treated me right the first time and they were $50 cheaper than

Hope they enjoyed their day at church today, getting called up to active service pretty soon...

Yeah I never found the American heritages in stock anywhere. Very few dealers around. I ended up finding them online for about the best price at Academy.com.
Supposedly Lebos is a dealer but when I went there all the boots they had required a matching belt buckle, TapOut shirt and eyebrow ring. Not my style lol.

I wear low top Sketchers with a composite safety toe. Totally comfy and not too bad at about $75 a pair.
They have memory foam which are great for my foot comfort.

Oh, and I wear Crocs too!

RedBack wearer at work myself, would hate to think I had to go back to something else on concrete. Rocky Riders on the weekends, take the flappy tassel thingies off that cover the toes of the boots and spray them with a good waterproofing agent and wear the soles off of them.

X2 ^ on the Red Backs. Work on concrete every day, hold up great to oil and grease and when they get a little loose throw a new insole in them. Like a new pair of boots. They aren't cheep but I can get about 3 yrs out of them, where I was replacing wolverines every year.

Ugh I hate the dickey boots I've got.. had to get something quick when I blew out my keen sidewall though. I have a pair of propet boots that are comfy but they wore out in 4 months.. Through the insoles and about thru the rubber.. bad boots will make my back hurt.

X how ever many on the Keens. But beware not all Keens are made equally. Been wearing them for years, always bought from a hiking style store. Wife got me a pair on the Internet awhile back, definitely different quality. Did a little research and found they are made over seas, while the others were made here. If you find a pair less than $100 just know they are not real Keens. Also Redbacks for work.
