Building a new buggy that will be LJ based. I'm keeping my OG EEC-4 controlled SBF powerplant.

To keep things clean, I'm going with a digital/electronic dash and gauge set up. Similar to what Holley offers, but not Holley.

I really like the GPS driven speedo/odo function.

What else is out there that is somewhat similar? Typical oil pressure, coolant and trans temp, volts, fuel pressure, etc.
 
If the build is gonna maintain the Canbus (OBDII), I'd start of with a cheap Android Tablet, Icarsoft Dongle and Torque Pro

It'll be a lot more work to setup, and you won't have any instructions to help, but it will also be a lot more configurable and portable (Use it in your tow rig, then put it in the buggy when you get to the trail) than any of the more model focused digital dashes.

This is the route I'm going in my current build.
 
I used the autometer cluster for individual gauges. I did use a GPS speedo and I'm not 100% happy with it. It has to relink every time power is cut, so when the jeep is in the garage it doesnt sync and start working until I'm running down the road. The needle also seems to react slowly, not a high enough refresh rate.

It is interesting to have actual vehicle speed instead of wheel speed. Burnouts read 0. Its accurate aired up or down...

It's old school OBD 1. Otherwise I'd go with something like you suggested
 
I’m on my second Hollley screen and honestly can’t recommend them. Not up to the “buggy” task being open to the elements and heat. Cutler would be a good brain to pick, but I think he’s aware of some problems out of the AEM stuff he tan in his buggies. I’ve heard good things about Haltech, but no first hand experience. Maybe @Bebop will chime in.

I shoulda caught that when you said you were keeping the EEC-4 system, Isn't that particular One Gauge you linked pretty dependent on OBDII though?
 
Are you planning to put a TJ/LJ dash in it, or do a flat dash? Based on ^^^^ I assume using the Jeep dash. As Ron said, DD dash should allow you to install electronic sensors to feed it.

Racepak was the goto for a while in racing. Not sure about anymore. Autometer looks to have a digital dash now, but not sure on quality. Im sure there are Motec or Haltech options if you want to spend the money.

Im sure @Bebop can give us the run down on what the cool kids are running these days. Of course, most of them are also running newer EFI systems.

Keeping the OEM dash. I want it still look like a Jeep on the inside too (just like my Ranger is)
Ideally, id like to stay under $1200ish.
I can always go with OG Autometer type gauges. But would prefer to enter the new millennium with my EEC4 and C6 trannny, lol.
 
Are you planning to give Holley or any other brand another try? If you’re using a stock 90s computer the digital dash doesn’t seem fitting,

I’m planning to use the Holley handheld for diagnostic, temp volts oil pressure on dedicated sensors with analog gages, and have a windows based tablet (probably Microsoft surface with a SIM card) to be able to make changes and for navigation, that could display larger gages if road tuning

I wanted LED backlight and all black. I don't remember if those VDO are LED or incandescent. I had to special order the sport comp II custom to get black bezels. Standard was silver.
