Buyfittingsonline.com is where I get stuff like that. The prices are generally better than Grainger
 
Found at the end of my yard, edge of road, next to the RR Tracks. Lordy, I get all the lawnscape, guys, work trucks, you name it, on my street. What is this? Trailer part, scaffold? If you got 1, show me a pic of where it goes.

without a good reference for size it looks like it would go in the top of scaffolding to make a top rail.

Good idea, & considering it has odd paint on it. Don't recall scaffolding with a square rail. Maybe so!
Reference > All OD is 1 1/2" thin wall. Round is 2 1/2" long. Square is 3 1/4" long.
