So my oldest is 5 and has already expressed an interest in going four wheeling with daddy. I have a TJ, corbeau front seats, stock rear seat. Has anyone put a suspension bench seat in the rear of their TJ? I like being able to remove the rear seat when I am wheeling alone, so if I put a suspensio seat in the rear has anyone made it removable? Do they make harnesses that are kid friendly? I want to be safe as possible so let me know what you have done or used.

I have a corbeau bench in the back of the buggy for the kids. It's not a TJ and it's not removable, but seems to work so far.

I got the corbeau 2" harnesses with quick releases so the kids can operate easily. They seem to get the concept at 5 years old. We should be trying everything out this spring.

I haven't looked into options beyond car seats. My 1.5 yr old loves riding. We took her to Big Creek last weekend and she had a blast. My issue is head control while she's sleeping.

Could you use a booster seat or larger convertible car seat installed on your factory bench? What about the preteen (prp I think) seats?

I don't think PRP makes the pre teen anymore. When I called 2 months ago looking for suspension seats for my 5 yo girls, I ended up buying the rzr170 seats.

A bench with a normal booster/car seat with a suitable harness would be good.

I am in the same boat. My boy just turned 5 and I am probably going to try and take him for the first time in 2016. So far he has not had much interest in going though. My Samurai does not have a back seat so I will have to put him in the passenger seat. I was thinking about just sitting his booster seat in there, and sticking to the EASY trails. Not sure though.

My boy was 5 when I took him for his first ride at URE in the Bronco, and he LOVED it. We just had a booster for him though back in 2002

Been taking ours wheeling since they were brand new. Car seat strapped into the seat belt in a stock TJ rear seat.

My boys have been wheeling from about a year old. I was pretty comfortable with them while they were in car seats. My boys are now 8 and 6. When I built my new jeep two year ago I just used the factory yj seat and lap belts while they were in booster seats. Main reason being I wouldn't be tempted to do any crazy stuff with them knowing they weren't harnessed in. Now they get upset when I tell them to get out. So now I'm doing a lot of upgrades on the jeep this winter and one of those is a new Corbeau suspension bench seat and adding 2" Corbeau four point harnesses with pads. I'm hoping they really like it. I know I will feel better. I also bought them new helmets a few months ago they wear all the time.
Safety first witht he kids
