When did the good ol' days end?

...and this bird you cannot change....

Seeing all these high school kids wearing Nirvana shirts helps me understand why the adults all hated the kids wearing Led Zeppelin shirts when I was in HS.

"The good ole days" is a relative term for every generation.

for me...it's anything before 1988..when shit was simple and I didn't have responsibility for anything other than my car insurance and gas

You know you're old when you hate the new generation of music.....I love Country music but this shit on the radio isnt that, damn I must be old

I talked with a old timer saturday. I was out in the field on the tractor and all of a sudden a white crown vic ran right through pasture and pulled up in front of me. He was probably 80 we talked like we was kin I didn't know this fellow for shit. Anyway at the end of our 20 minute talk he filled his cup back up with liquor. Later johnson he said. I thought about the things we talked about, some of the things he told, just like we had known each other forever. I realized that the good Olde days are still alive and strong down my way. Sometimes it just pays to slow down turn the TV off and just focus on home.

mainstream country music is a joke.

I can believe this.

Dude you gotta get u some sat radio, keep listenin to the stuff they play on the radio and your gonna develop a man crush on Luke Bryan or something. You'll be all flat billin, truck squattin, listen to FL/GA line w 10 light bars on your hoopty pick up.

For me the g.o.d ended around 95/96 when I got married. Not that my wife was a buzz kill or anything it was just that when I got married I moved out from my parents house, had my own bills,no money, and finally saw what the real world was like.Hard to finish a show truck and maintain a 4wd habit when u have all the bills that come along w bein a married adult that's just getting started. She musta loved me cause we were broke as a joke the first few years. The early 90's were the best for me.I was makin killer money, was big in the mini truck scene, had a steady GF,lived at home and could come and go as I wanted. If we wanted to go to Charlotte or Myrtle Beach or Atlanta or Nashville to a truck show we were gone.

I look at all the generations around me and think about their time vs mine a lot! My speculations from experiences of getting to know them are those that grew up (teens-20's) in:
The 30's barely made it. The time of the great depression. It culled out much of the weak. I lost half my family tree to disease. Survivors! Tough as nails! Never missed a shot for they would starve...
The 40's worked very hard. But most didn't get to finish school. Had to drop out to help tend to their younger brothers and sisters. Grew up in large families to work on the farm.
The 50's (my parents) had alot handed from their parents. They had to work early on the farm, but unless they had strong family morals of saving up, they didn't save much until later in life when they inherited.
The 60's... The beginning of the good ole days... Good times! Have so much to talk about today. Crazy things they did and saw. Experimenting with sex and drugs. Emotional rollercoaster wondering where the world was going to go.
The 70's started to realize how lucky they were and gave it their all. Times were still tuff for younger gen and pay scales were still low. Alot of them kept their same jobs up to even today.
The 80's (me) Had more opportunity than any other gen so far. The introduction of the internet opened up a world of opportunity. Folks made money off of pure imagination. Anyone had the opportunity.
The 90's (I'd say most on here) Had the most of opportunity with a split in the middle towards the end where things kinda peaked. I'd say this was the very start of the end of the good-ole-days...
Then the 00's it got harder. MUCH harder QUICK! a lot didn't get a piece of the pie of opportunity. But their parents keep them alive. I'd say half will stay home til their 30's for they were handed no choice.
10's... I hate it so much for them. The world is showing it's age. Global Warming / Nuclear fears / Lethal weapons and lethal drugs very available. A lot of mean people out there...

It's only getting tougher from here. I see no relief in sight. I'm SOOO thankful. I feel I was born in and lived the most... "In the Good Ole Days"...

I saw and see all this from my grandparents. Compared to my parents. Compared to everyone I grew up in front of and behind, compared to my step-children, and now my step grand children...

Of course where there's a will, there's a way. Some defy the norm and take chances and make it. A lot get handed to them. There are exceptions!

Depends on how old you are.
Exactly. I was born in 61, my "good ole days" growing up as a kid are unrecognizable to kids today.
