I need a radiator for my chipper, but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars. Mounting is very flexible, so I just need something similar to this:

Ideally in the Charlotte/Gastonia area.

Check with Croatan_Kid... seems like he had the hookup on radiators

Edit:seems like I don't know how to tag users lol
Part of why I don't want to buy a new aftermarket one, haha!
And just put the "@" symbol then start typing their username.

I had you covered until "dont want to spend hundreds"

2's of hundreds might be ok, but not 4's of hundreds.

Ive used:
IEA, ROCORE, Young Touchstone and Simplex a bunch.

YT is probably the easiest to do business with through Davidson Sales. But Ive never bought products that werent in the thousands...not sure how their smaller stuff prices up

I'd be perfectly fine with a used radiator off of a tractor or jeep or 18 wheeler or whatever. Just need something to cool a Cummins 4B under medium load.

Just poking and hopin here but what about like a 3000/4000 series Ford tractor rad
Possibly. What are the rough dimensions and how does it mount?

I don't know for sure but Ive changed a couple and they looked similar.

Core Size: 18.00" Wide Dim B (2) 16.00" High Dim C (3) 3 Rows of Tubes Dim D (4) 7 Fins per Inch

have you looked into repairing the one you have? had the copper/brass radiator in my 1945 chevy truck repaired by a shop in south charlotte cant remember the name of the shop but I found it by googling radiator repair in charlotte nc. possably they can fix it or point you in the right direction for a cheaper alternative

Obviously you know this and are nal enough about details like I am to not overlook this, I hope, but please look up an engine data sheet and get the heat rejection to coolant value and find the right size. You dont want to repeat this process. $B are notoriously hot running and low tolerance finnicky little bastards.

Looks like a Wrangler radiator, not that I pulled a tape out. Your jackstand queen might even have one to measure or maybe even donate to a sooner completed project...

Ha...as long as you don't need a radiator for a Kubota L4400 tractor, CG&J makes a nice product. I just think there was too much of a tolerance stack up on my particular radiator for them to make it correctly...that and they didn't pay attention to details even after I made a list of things they did wrong.

The radiator itself was of nice quality though and per their website they make a royal faulk ton of different radiators and can make just about anything you'd want or need.

Even on a non turbo 4B? I plan to get something close in capacity, but I was figuring a 4cyl diesel wasnt the hottest running thing around.

Can the radiator be oversized and not cause issues?
Certainly. That's what the thermostat is for.

Might ask a shop like "The Cooling Center" [Charlotte], about recoring it. The tanks are probably ok.
Thanks, I'll check them out. The tanks and cores are actually good, but the solder/brazed mounts have broken away. It appears to be some kind of frankenradiator. The top tank is aluminum, the bottom tank is brass, the mounting points appear to be aluminum or some type of solder, and the mounts are steel. It's probably fixable, but given the oddness of everything else, it seems more prudent to just replace the whole thing.

Radiator

Trying to barter some time on the lift:D
If by barter you mean you'll buy it for me, then yes, I'll give you a couple weeks on the lift for a $500 radiator! (though the one in the link is too small)
