Where to get 38.5 tire's balanced

oh yeah, if you use water, make sure it has antifreeze in it. large chunks of ice would not be good.

You know I was thinking about this.
What about high gravity alcohol? like a nice strong Vodka or Everclear?
That'd never freeze, it's keep the inside nice and clean (steril, lol) and if (when!) it leaks out from unmounting or rolling teh bead, it's an eco-friendly mess...?

(plus it'd smell great when you deflate the tires lol)

Everclear isn't good for much else...

Too time consuming/labor intensive to make a good PJ every weekend.

Only because you think WAY too small! We quickly outgrew tea pitchers & 5gal buckets... and graduated on to "big boy" vessels! When 35gal poly drums weren't cutting it, a 55gal "deluxe" model replaced it.

However, that wasn't without problems...
#1 - Empty wallet
#2 - Multiple trips to ABC (they'll cut you off *way* before 10gals of PGA!)
#3 - Ain't easy finding a space large enough to refrigerate a 55gal drum
#4 - Our pump require the strainer be cleaned (clogged with fruit pulp) about every gal or 2
#5 - Getting excess fruit out (to stay below the PJ required a dedicated "frog gig"
#6 - Last but not least... better hope your friends showed to help drink or you'd "lose" any recollection of entire weekends (weeks  )

And to keep this technical, I'll throw another vote for anti-freeze & water. 6-7 years ago I rode with "YHDG" slinging 37" Boogers... the Terror truthfully rode better than my DD!
I went straight home, pulled off the leads weights and siphoned 12fluid OZs into each of my 33"s. Been that way ever since...

Nope. Nothing in physics is random and all systems will move towards equilibrium naturally.

Yeah I knew that, but what I was referring to is I assumed the BBs/fluid would bunch together at one specific spot on the tire and cause the whole wheel to become way out of balance. (Like the magnet does in the demo video.) What I meant by random was that the position this "bunching" happened at would be random each time the wheel spun up. After seeing the strobe on the demo I see I was quite mistaken. Now, can someone explain the physics behind it and why the bearings were evenly distributed?

Im positive that you are joking, but just in case.
Alcohol by nature is (or even definition) is extremely hydrophillic, and as such would draw the sub particulate water out of the tire compound and cause accelerated decomposition of the rubber molecules in the tire, thus causing them to wear faster and be more susceptible to punctures/tears.

Bringing this back from the dead... fast forward to today when I had a couple of these broken down. Absolutely no sign of any liquid in them whatsoever! I could see a little oozing out at low pressure and maybe a little evaporating over time, but there were no signs that there had ever been 12 fluid ozs in them! WTF?

Going with 10ozs of airsoft beads this time round... :flipoff2:

My 42" bias ply iroks are hydro balanced using 9 oz of water/antifreeze mix. From 0-20 mph its about like trying to roller skate drunk with full 5 gallon buckets in each hand, but 20+ mph its smooth as all get out and stays balanced way beyond any speed I have the balls to drive them. Will never go back to airsofts again!

I just shot a note off to Centramatic asking about their H1 balancers. This thread got me thinking about these again. I am hoping they will fit, driving around with unbalanced tires kind of sucks.

You can always go to your local commercial tire store and get some liquid balance. It's usually guaranteed not to evaporate.
