I've found myself in a situation where I have a choice of possible trades for one of these cars and it just so happens that I've been wanting the headache of another street project.

All options are choices that I would have considered otherwise.
All options are in rough shape, but all are "workable"
All options would need all major systems addressed.
All options would likely and eventually be a full rebuild. And I don't mean restoration, but getting it just slightly better than full-on shitpile.
All options would have original engine (or what is left from original) removed and my 496bbc crammed in its place.
Period/aesthetics/brand/etc. matching is 100% NOT a consideration.

My order of choice, all things being equal would be: Jag, Trans, Impala, and the ol retard el camino last.

What says the collective?

I only said trans am because you're swapping engines. The original 400s in those things are dookie slow.

I vote Impala. Then make it do this.

Always been a HUGE Jag fan myself, but the electrical headaches pre-94ish would almost be enough to turn me away from taking one on as a project, so I'd probably just go TransAm.

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Trans Ams, but if your going for the sleeper effect with the BBC I've gotta vote Jag first and Impala second. No way anyone would suspect a Jag with a 496 under the hood!

I initially voted TA until I saw you wanted to stick a BBC into it. Then I changed my vote to the Impala. A BBC into a 2nd gen TA is a travesty, I'm an old school Poncho guy to the death. Unless it is 82+ it should never have a Chevy motor in it.

Yeah, I know my 71 Lemans has a Chevy motor, but that's why I have a 400 sitting here under the racks.

If you're doing the motor swap, and ripping out the whole wiring harness from the vehicle (Then putting in a Painless or similar harness)... Do the Jag.

Otherwise, do the Impala...
