Left my apartment complex earlier today to drop off a deposit on a house rental for next semester. Had to stop for some woman who was using a leaf blower to blow dust and leaves out of the complex across the street across the main road...:shaking:

Anyways, Im gone for not more than 10 minutes, and I come back to my lot. Turns out same woman had come and blown the crap from our parking lot...into the middle of the lot. Long story short, I rolled right over a bottle she left in the parking lot. Tire is definitely losing air, and I cant afford a new set right now.

I didn't see the bottle at all, it was sitting right in the path of a parking spot....

So are the apartment people responsible or the Landscapers? I know I will basically have no luck getting a new set paid for, but maybe they'd pay for it to be repaired till I can afford a new set?

Nope.....You ran over it. It sucks but I think you're on your own

I had a similar situation.

While getting on the parkway, grass had over grown the road hidding a rather large hole on the edge of the pavement. My right rear droped off and blew out the sidewall. I contacted the parks and recreation, they said "If I had been paying attention, I would have seen the hole and drove around" and that they were "not responsable". Like I said "GRASS HAD GROWN OVER THE SIDE OF THE PAVEMENT". I argued but it didn't do any good. The next week the hole was fixed. Go figure

It sucks that responsible people have to pay for the mistakes stupid people make!!!

Nothing you can do about the bottle, but there is definitely recourse for potholes/road hazards due to improper or infrequent maintenance. You need to call the DOT about that one, repeatedly. A guy at work got a tire AND wheel out of them, after 40 or so phone calls, of course.

Chock itup to the cost of vehicle ownership.

The absolute besyyou could get out of anybodyis the cost of patching the tire, which is about $20. Sure as hell not a "set" of tires, that is rediculous.

Thing is there's no way to evenprove they (aparentment or landscapers) even had anything to do with it. Could also have been a roomate who left that bottle there. Or Bigfoot.

Go get yourself a plug kit and move on with life.

Yeah that's all I am wanting, the cost of the tire repair. Lots to prove that it was the landscaper. Had at least one guy watch her blow the crap into the middle of the lot and leave it...had my room mate with me and also can verify.

Stupid bitch was just standing around doing nothing for a half hour or so. When I call the Landscapers to nicely tell them to not leave freakin bottles on the road when they are cleaning, I will definitely mention that.

Stick a plug or two in it and go on about your day.

sue the bottle manufacturer for damages!!!
surely its someone else's fault other than yours...

really, nothing you can do. plug the tire and move on.

Double that, take it with a grain of salt and put a wanted ad up for some cheap tires here, that's been the only thing keeping "good" rubber on my cars for a good while now.

Check out the used tire shop at the flea market on Capital Blvd (at the intersection of Raleigh Blvd.) Those guys sold me three 265/75/16s with at least 80% tread for $90 installed about a month ago. A year ago I picked up one tire that was 95% for $35 installed there.

That sucks for ya id plug it and tube it later till ya got $ for new ones!!!! or sue the world like everyone suggests on here!!! ha

not looking to sue anyone, just pissed that the woman clearly left the bottle there and didn't give a damn. I know she heard me and my room mate checking it out and talking about how dumb it was that she left it there...didn't approach to apologize or anything (Id have been happy with just that..)

Looks like the tire might be okay though...

Who cares if you are planning to sue anyone or not? It's your while attitude about the situation that infuriates me to no end, as it is a reflection of our society as a whole's general sense of entitlement. Own the world, but don't earn it. I don't get it. You are talking about a simple repair you can do yourself for cheap, and supposedly on a forum full of folks that "like" to work on trucks. But you've taken a small daily aggravation, nay, annoyance, a proverbial gnat flying around your head, and twisted it into some evil genius landscaper sabatoge plot. How did the damn bottle get there in the first place? Did this lady leave her trash in the lot, or did some self-important prick that lives in your complex feel that he was justified in leaving his trash in the parking lot because "it just wasn't my problem"? The correct answer is, who gives a shit. You act like someone jizzed in your cereal dude. Maybe next time you'll see the bottle first, and be a real stand up guy and move it before someone else pops a tire. Just don't come on this forum bitching cause no one bought you a trophy or a steak dinner for your good deed.

come back more often

Your question- Who would be responsible for this? The responsible answer, accepted by a responsible, clear thinking society--YOU

I tend to avoid driving in an area where I know trash including bottles that could potentially kill a tire may be, but maybe thats just me, worst case scenario reach in the glove box for the plug kit and plug it before it loses too much air.

Not just you...I'm he same way. I figure driving through trash and whatnot is just as ignorant as driving through a mud hole/water crossing without knowing how deep it is.
