Saturday before hooters

Is anyone planning to go to Sutton Lake before we all meet at Hooters on Saturday. If anyone would like to go I'm planning on being there early afternoon around 2 ish to do some wheeling if anyone os interested. Let me know we will have a YJ and XJ there that day
 
pretty sure it's now illegal to wheel at sutton lake... not positive, but pretty sure. i believe it was sold recently and the new owners were less than enthused about the idiots tearing up the roads and leaving litter after shooting....

I've heard the same thing about Sutton being closed from a couple different people. I was out there about three weeks ago when they were chasing everyone out of there. What we heard then was that it was because of the dirt bikes flying down the roads and rock spraying the cars they passed, etc... either way, since then it sounds like a no-go.

Anyone been out there recently? While there was fuzz present?

yeah we still go out there regularly... no fuzz and no signs. but most of the time we go out it's pretty late.
 
Was there sunday, didn't see any extra presence....not as many fleas out there though, but it wasn't nice as far as the weather was concerned.
 
been out there a couple of times too...i haven't seen anything...i'll go out there on saturday and if we get ran off well, now we know! see you there lets make a universal CB channel for the weekend? i vote 40 or 20...
 
try to get to hooters early.... like 6:30-7.... the girl said today that they can't reserve seating on saturday night w/the fight coming on so our only chance was to be there early... i'm thinking we should take over the patio :)

errr, torque convertor is due in at 8am friday.... i'm trying to get off of work and if that happens then she'll be driving tomorrow afternoon....

but i still have to put in the new steering column and swap the rear springs at the very least.

oh and i don't have it tagged..... errrrr... but it's insured so maaaaybe i'll just risk making the 2 mile drive to hooters....

To adress the Sutton Lake issue there were reports of dirtbikes/atv's running wrecklessly down the service rd throwing gravel on vehicles( 2 reports) and 1 report of a guy shooting at the towers of the power station. ( All this info came from a very reliable county source ) That was the first weekend. I know I got stopped turning onto the entrance rd going in as I was pulling into the rear fire station exit which is accessed through the rd leading to Sutton. Went 2 weeks after that just to check things out and saw nothing. As I came back onto the service rd 3 deputies were blue lighting a car for shooting out there. Pulled over to the group of trucks that were all loading atvs/motorcycles and all said they were instructed to leave. I assume b/c I was heading out it was assumed I was leaving so I had no contact with the deputies that day. As I followed them out 2 of them stoped side by side on Sutton Steam Rd next to the fire dept and for the few minutes they were talking every truck that got in the turn lane to turn in they hit the blue lights and motioned them to go elsewhere before they even turned. Sutton has been sold to Progress Energy as I understand it and it is no more gamelands which is why you could hunt there. Pretty much at this point it is definately illegal

As far as Hooter's goes I'll be there at some point.
