Wilmington tire help

@yodaman88 @maulcruiser anyone else in the Wilmington area that could help me out here.

Daughter is down there at UNCW and looks like she's going to need some tires on her Nissan Altima. Normally I'd send the kids to a Discount tire and have them call me, but none really NEAR there.

Is there a tire shop you'd recommend in town that won't see a college girl coming a mile away and try to make some jack on a set of tires?

She had gone by a place called Triple A tire and they quoted her $98 a tire for uniroyal tiger paws....but SOMEHOW it was $772 installed o_O
 
blacks and hughs both good choices. Never heard of triple a tire

I also recommend seaside tires for good used tires, or to mount your own tires. They also sell new ones but I'm not familiar with the brands. They do good work and treat you right. I take all my dealer cars there for tires.
 
Midas, Blacks, Hughes... call and get a quote from each one. Whoever has the best price, tell her to go there. I worked as a tech and service writer in Wilmington for 7 years. The 3 I suggest do good work and have decent service writers. This was last decade though. I do know that Lloyd Atkinson still owns the local Midas and he has a reputation to uphold with the local community. He was on the US Olympic bobsled team in the 80s. Good guy.
 
Browning Town Tire had the best price. $425 installed


Dealt with Charles. He took great care of my girl, and had it done in less than an hour.

Blacks was $506.40 for the same tires, and AAA auto care center (whom my daughter's boyfriend stopped in for a quote before calling me) was $772 for the same tires o_O
