Hey everyone

I'm planning something to make contributions to the "Save Tellico" fund. and would like some input.

As many know I make Vinyl Graphics. So here's my thought. Create a simple die-cut sticker and sell them. then donate the proceeds to SFWDA Save Tellico Fund. I would only re-coop my costs in Materials. My time in labor being my donation. Price would include My costs on Materials, Postage, Envelops, and the Donation monies.

The Feed back I'm looking for is:

1.What would you be willing to pay
2. Suggestions on what the stickers say/include
3. People and places that I might check with to host a link to an order form that I'll host, or Locations I can send a batch to in order to sell over the counter. (i.e. Off Road shops, Crawfords, etc.)

TIA
Brent

1) $5-6

2) Save Tellico or Rescue Tellico (I think this is already being used by SFWDA); I'd stay away from putting a specific vehicle on there if you went that route. I'd like to see a most difficult diamond or a mountain. Something that would represent the area. (this gives me an idea, I'll send it to you)

3) I have no clue specifically. I'd put it everywhere possible. Pirate is a great place.

I'd say $5 is reasonable and more likley to get stickers out there.. where others may see it..

possibly put the united or sfwda url on the sticker?

Check with the local gas stations, hotels, and resturants in Murphy, NC to see if they will sell some for you. After all, if Tellico was to close.... I am sure that would hurt their business quite a bit!

Maybe even see if the outpost at Uwharrie will sell some.

Keep it simple with SAVE TELLICO. That is the message right? Or you could do SAVE TELLICO.org.

I just registered savetellico.org and am setting up the redirect to point it to the SFWDA Tellico page.

It should be working now. http://savetellico.org

$5.00-$10.00

We own Tellico, as in "We the People"
Keep it open for all to enjoy

This could go as big as you want it to.
I am sure some of the Magazines would host a spot for your add.
Many of the businesses in Murphy.
The Dixie Run is this coming week. I am sure many could be sold there. Have someone take them up for you. IF you can get them to me I will take them. I would be happy to get several vendors to sell them.

DR is next week? damn, I didn't realize it was that soon. not sure if I could get many made for then. maybe....

I've emailed all the executive comity at SFWDA to see what they thought and haven't heard back (it's only been an hour or so), if anyone has direct contact with them (cell phone, etc) could you make contact or let me know how to.

I'll try to get an order cut this weekend and to you Chip. Maybe they could raffle them, sell them at the raffle, anything. I don't care so long as they bring in revenue for the fund.

get on pirate and look under the land use section and then Tellico. once there find a woman by the name of k9somethingorother. she's a huge promoter and works with SFWDA. Also look for tellicorob. he does a lot there as well.

I've tried contacting Southern's leadership before with limited results. IMO, the ones in there now need to be heading down the road and get some more proactive people.

Jay Bird is the president and a joke IMO.

"K9crazy" is Heather Spivey who has represented the off road community and SFWDA as an environmental expert at all the stakeholder's meetings. I don't have a phone # but she should see a PM on Pirate.

This discussion came up in a thread there too, but it never took hold. I agree that maybe $5 for a small size and $10 for a large size sticker would be a great idea. I think Save Tellico should be the primary lettering, but in smaller text maybe a phrase like "Off Roaders Supporting Public Access Trails and Environmental Responsibility". Just a thought.

Keep in mind the offices of SWFDA are real people with real jobs, and like everyone else time is limited. So, depending on the topic of whatever you may be trying to convey, your results may vary. That coupled with the time of year ( I know I am in getting ready for the Dixie Run Mode) the time they have may be even more limited.

As far as Jay Bird, You should get to know the man, he is an awesome individual that has given many hours of his time to both his club (Georgia Bounty Runners) and to Southern. In addition to his on generosity as the "Ice Cream man"

1) $5 - $10
2) Keep it simple SaveTelico.org is a great idea
3) All the 4x4 forums, off-road shops, and If you can get them down to Murphy, might talk to folks at Tellico cabins or Crawfords to help out.

thats my $.02

Before it goes anywhere, let's stear clear of any discussions of anyone competence, and stick to the topic at hand. thanks all.

with that, I created a design from suggestions on text and graphics. and the idea of keeping it simple so I could pump these out with little effort and get the job done, and word out!

Nick sent me an idea, I kept part of it and rearranged the rest to suit the cut job. thanks Nick.

simple and too the point

SaveTellico.gif

the url is going to be a breif description of the purpose behind the effort, an order form, links to related articles and discussions. There is also talks of advertising space that you buy space and the again, the proceeds go to the Save Tellico Fund. I'm also planning a running tally of donations so all can see just how much has been contributed.

thanks for the ideas, and hopefully we'll have the url up and active in the next few days.

sold

I'll take 4 sight unseen, even if they are $10 ea. I've never been and don't want to miss this place

What size are you thinking? If 2" tall or under, it'll be more garanteed to fit on tube bumpers etc.
I don't know how many (or if any) color options you'd want to do... but personally white lettering on clear background would be ideal for me, having black paint on body/bumpers.

I'd definetely be down for one if it was $10 or under. I agree with RatLabGuy about the size, but personally having the orange truck I'd be more down for say black lettering on a clear background.

offered size is going to by approx 1.5" x 10"

If you want a windshield banner It'll cost extra, and only on request.

you can have any color so long as it's black or White and these are die cut, so the color around the letters is whatever color the surface you're mounting it to.

Well for those of us that have accepted teh fact that binary pretty much rules the world, that's perfect.

... and reminds me of my favorite joke:
There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those that understand binary, and those that don't.

awesome, $5 ea is no problem. now just work out how we can order them? I am in for 5.
