WTF is wrong with people

The world is full of worthless scum... Typically my response when my wife asks me why I prefer to conceal carry.

It's unfortunate it happened in what I consider a very pleasant town in NC. I am sure the woke movement will consider this "justice served." (I hate them :flipoff:)
 
Any better info available? That article does very little besides list the people praying and departments participating.
 
I really do not like thsi style article. I appreciate the notion of updates but it is freaking impossible to read quickly and just get the point of the story.

And yeah, people suck.

Still better than CNN’s absurdly on brand coverage that stated it “ended in gunplay”. Buncha cocksuckers.
 
I have been following this story as Boone holds a special place in my heart.

2 deputies go to a house for a welfare check, dude opens door, they come in, he starts shooting. One deputy died immediately, other was flown to hospital in TN. Dude holes up in the house and shoots at the cops all day, hits another but Kevlar saved him. When said and done dude killed his mom, step father (in the house) the two deputies and himself.

So sad.
 
Yes people suck and are bat shit crazy. I think a lot of this is because the news carries it. I remember as a teen they use to do stuff on teen suicide. They found out teen suicides went up when they did them. So they stopped. I don't remember where I read that it's been probably 40 years but IMHO it holds true here today more so.

Reporting has been very poor and sporadic even through the back door channels of Facebook and such. That was the most complete story I could find, but I agree the presentation was crap.

I have been following it very closely since I first heard about it yesterday for a number of reasons. It feels close to home because we go to Boone a lot, and one of my best friends was a Watauga County Sheriff's Deputy and one of his really good LEO friends was killed in a similar situation back in 2012. Been a tough 10 years for that department.
 
I was listening to a radio report of this story yesterday and they were saying that the shooter had been reported as wanting to do something like this by several people and he was on the police radar. Cops had no idea he was in this house. It was a total ambush. He wanted to kill regular citizens too.

I still cannot understand why welfare checks are performed by police. It's your family member, get your ass up and check on them. Plain and simple. Stop involving the police in stuff they don't need to be.

Live states away, car broken down, family sounded in distress and can’t get there quickly. Not actually a family member as this case was.

A lot of people dont have family nearby. Welfare check may come from a coworker that noticed someone hasn't shown up to work, or a concurned neighbor

Same..as I have a daughter at App State right now

Thankfully she was several miles away with her mother in a cabin near Elk River Falls at the time of the shooting and stand off
 
My wife is from Boone and was reading real hard on her phone that night. That's when I knew it had gone on. We didn't really talk about it then. I woke up to read the news and realized how shitty the situation was. Really sucks
