Yeah, you miss a lot when you don't venture out of chit-chat and the garage long enough to bother with those pesky tech sections:flipoff2:

yeah i think it would help and look cool. whats a halo type

I think he means like this

^I liked his a lot better pre EXO but it still looks ok.

yeah if i put an exo on it i will definitely do it correctly i just want to make sure that i dont mess up teh exterior anymore than what i have already done

Exo is gona weigh a ton and suck..Go interior cage..

just wheel it and be careful and dont get over your head and you wont roll/dent it up. Most people do exo's before rolls not after:flipoff2:

i was looking at this and noticed the back doors have that bar that makes it inaccesable? so why would you take a 4 door and make it so you cant even use the space
my brothers xj has a full interior cage, its design is pretty slack, itll save him but everyone else will probably die in a bad roll. If you go interior be just as careful to do it right as if you were doing an exo.

maybe he never used the backdoors pre-exo, figured screwit, its more important to him to stiffen up the cage

Spencer

I wheeled a semi stock IFS Xterra since I bought it new in 2003. Actually dented the bumpers up and rpped the stock skidplates off 6 months after I bought it.

If you have any questions I know a bit about those rigs. I know SharksandDanger and RedX on here know a metric ton more than I do, but I can point you in the right direction.

Internal cage will do you more good than an external on those rigs. The exo no matter how well done always seems to catch on every single branch and rock out there.

anyway goodluck with the X

spencerh....You rolled a very nicely built Xterra. Glad you weren't injured in that. And the truck still looks like it will be fun to go riding around in. Just watch your lines better next time.
I think I'd go with an internal cage as well. Kind of a moot point to do an external now.

No I got in the truck after we flipped it back over and they would not hold it even while running. They went to the floor. I had to pump them to get pressure to hold it. What would have helped was putting it in gear and letting out the clutch. Also keep in mind this was the first time Spencer had wheeled anything like Daniel. He was brave but in over his head a bit.

i know that having the exo now wont do me any good now but it will def help me the next time that i roll and the only thing about doing an interior is that it will take up so much room

Not as much room as you would think. Gotta ask yourself if you're looking to protect the body or if you're trying to protect yourself.

If it's the body, do the halo style where you protect your roof line and bring pipe down in behind the driver seats in an X to give strength to the exo. I'm not a cage expert, but I've watched others and read up on them a little bit. If you exo it without bracing in the interior then your exo is just going to crush into your body when you roll. It'll probably save your life, but not the body and that's what you're trying to save with the exo.

If you just want to save your life then the interior cage is a much better choice. They look really cool and they can be designed in a space saving manner. Just take a look at the threads on this board. There are a lot of cool designs. I personally like the hybrid styles where it starts as an interior and comes out through the rough to create a halo. I think there was a cherokee on here that was done that way. Looked really sweet.

how much about would it cost for a hybrid? cause i know that will definitely do the best but i dont wanna break the bank on this one
