Don't know if anybody wants to hear this but here goes. Last Sunday 29th at 7:00 pm I celibrated three years of non smoking! Four packs a day and quit cold turkey! That's TWO CARTONS in 5 days! No gum, toothpicks, mints, or patches! Just did it! Anybody else beat the nicotene? Tell me and others.

I didn't have the right to fuss about the price of gas!

^^me too. It's stupid really. I wish there was a pill or shot to take so tha IF I smoked a cig after taking it ,it would make me sick as a dog. I would take 2 pills.

There is a shot you can get.
Dont know much about it, an ex co worker did it.

But thats just another form of willpower. You are strong enough mentally when you decide you WANT to quit, you will be done.

I dipped 2 cans of Copenhagen a day for 12 years (well 2 cas/day for the last 2-3 but dipped for 12 total) when I decided I wanted to quit I never looked back.

You da man hot dog man!

Chantix is pretty damn close - it blocks the nicotinic receptors in your brain so oyu don't feel any of the juice from teh smoke... e.g. it dosn't do chit for ya anymore, so it's easy(er) to quit....

To start with CONGATS? Quiting smoking is the best thing I ever did. Congrats to all who have quit and good luck to those trying or thinking of trying.

I agree with Chantix. It worked for me just over 2 years ago. I will admit I still smoke cigars 1-2 a week lately since I am in the laid up mode and not working.

my moms on it now and its helping her alot. im going to try it myself after x-mas

The 21st of this month it'll be 4 months without one, now if I could only leave the Grizzly and Levi Garrett alone...

congratulations. i quit cold turkey 9 years ago, right around thanksgiving. I tried to quit a couple of times because other people wanted me to, but it never lasted more than a couple of weeks. I finally decided it was time to quit, so i did. It was actually pretty damn easy.

btw, they still smell pretty damn good at times, that won't go away anytime soon. Your fingers will smell like cigarettes for months, and soon you will realize just how bad your breath used to smell and how bad an ashtray stinks.

I still smoke, I know I need to quit. I tried chantex, but they gave me too f*&^ed up dreams.

Wow, congrats to all that quit! It is the toughest thing I have ever done. I didn't empty my ashtrays in my vehicle or beside my recliner for about two months! I had a bucket in my shop I used as a ashtray and it didn't get dumped for a year or more, I put water in it to make it stink! I couldn't carry a weapon for about two months. The temper I had was unbeleivable! Yeah I gained a lot of weight and I'm working on that now, but I'd rather carry a few pounds than a pack in the pocket! I don't mind being around them anymore so don't worry about that. Sorta helps a little in a way. By the way here is a few others that I affected,Jody,a waitress at the diner, Todd at Bluewater Campground,Chris J. a long time friend, and my 82 year old father also quit!

Go ahead and tell em' ...you've been working on me too.
Our little conversation on the way to the flats got me to thinking about it , at least.

Dylan I'll put no pressure on anybody, but I'll help if you want it. I found a few tricks that helped me. I was tired of people trying to help me that NEVER smoked! What do they know?

Yeah, you quiting a 4 pack a day habit offers inspiration to my 1 1/2 pack habit.

Cigs seem like such a good friend of mine...know what I mean?

what tricks did you use?

I beat it in 2004, but I started back this year after consuming lots of alcohol and saying hey that cig looks good!

thats my biggest problem with quitting smoking. drinking a beer and not smoking a cig is like shitting and not pissing while you're on the toilet.

i have a lofty goal of cutting back or even quitting after i graduate.

Yeah, you can piss and not poop. But its not easy to poop without pissing. LMMFAO.
