The rounds stay in the clip until it is empty and then the clip pops out and the bolt locks back.

I don't want to be "that guy" that argues with an expert but I'm pretty sure the M1 uses an en-bloc clip that does stay in the internal magazine but it still inserts into an internal mag, correct or no?

You are arguing semantics. No modern gun uses clips. The garand actually uses clips. You are talking about stripper clips which are used to load magazines by pushing the rounds from the stripper clip into the magazine. You do not insert a stripper clip into a magazine and leave it. The enbloc clip actually remains in the garand until empty so it is really one of the few guns that you stick a clip in and the clip actually stays. I was agreeing with your sarcasm and hate when people talk about banning high capacity clips when the only real gun that would impact is a garand and they are limited to 10 rounds already so ban clips all you want.

Didn't say it held 10 rounds I said it was already limited to ten rounds which the antis think is some magical number. You can actually get 2 round clips for Garands as well they use them in competition all the time.
