Looked like they had closed a strap in the trunk latch and broke it off pulling the tail panel out and busting the tail lights so we simply ran a strap 3 times around the tail light holes and went with it. The only tow hook was sunk in the mud.
 
I hate to even start thinking this way but could these "random" dumpings and abandonments be the work of folks that want OHVs kicked out of Uwharrie? I mean, if someone randomly had issues and they were by themselves they would not just leave the vehicle. They were with another vehicle to get a ride out of there, it's not like these things are being left on the side of a road, they are miles back in the woods.

It was a Volvo......was there an Obama and/or a Hillary sticker on it?
 
What happens with these vehicles? Is any profit for scrap given back to URE?
 
Scrap is so low right now it's probably charity work for the tow company to haul it. That is part of the reason this is happening I think.
 
Before it goes to scrap someone check under the hood; for a few years those 240DLs had York 210R A/C compressors. I snagged one a long time ago out from a Volvo like that.
