90's throw back.....Manche build

Is that an Eliminator Mj from 91 or 92? IF so I'm crying inside! NM went back and I see the renix over flow bottle... carry on!

90 model.

Here @shawn....does this count?

I aired up one tire just for you, didn't even polish the wheel yet....

I had those same Procomp wheels on my TJ at one point, and they had the thickest lip I have ever seen. It would take a huge hit to bend it.

Yes, they're quite beefy, especially the center section.

Recorded some weights for those interested;

Iirc about 50lbs less than the raceline/sx combo

I'm figuring 50lb more for brakes/oil gives me an estimated wet axle weight w/o tires of 305lb....with tires only 570lb. I'll have to look back at my notes from valving the buggy, (and obviously we don't know 1/2 the weight of the links/shocks/driveshaft yet), but that is VERY light versus my previous set up.

Hopefully I can ballpark this thing at 4000 wet....

She stocked...

All the dropouts are here now. New 5.43 gears installed in both low pinions, the mega hi is loaded with a spooled 5.40, dual load bolts with 35 spline pinion and 1350 forged yoke, alltech bolt locks, and bronze nose bearing. Even got a carry case for the spare in the deal.

Started some rough layout, just to wrap my head around drive and power train placement relative to the cab.

So far, looking at 115-117 wheelbase, 19-20 belly. Both driveshafts roughly 38" one pieces. Roughly 36" front lower links, 48" lower rear trailing arms.

Big thanks @ol'Jeeps (metalwerx) for getting my thirds setup and the loan of the chassis table, and most of my materials on the way. Also a thanks to Kevin of the Miller Motorsports family, who moved to Charlotte this week from Jersey and transported the hi 9 from Balducci Bros for me and saved me some shipping.

More parts on the way, hopefully some metal melting within the next week.

The weekend is coming! You better have your welding hood down this weekend! Looking forward to seeing your metal work!

Steering no problem, exhaust is the problem, and the corner of the bell housing. The link towers must be redone. Hard to picture without third installed. The engine may get shifted to passenger an inch or so.

Bottom of radiator will actually be in front of the towers, lean back at the top. It's going to be an interesting package.

Saw this on the FaveBook and thought of this build.

I was going to try and ride down Sat but I ended up staying at DPG all day.
