Long story....

A little background....we have been getting dozens of packages in via USPS, FedEx, and UPS over the past couple of months. Stuff for the new house and shop build....lights, tile, ceiling fans, towel bars and stuff....

Fedex has delivered 9 out of 10 items to the wrong address. Literally, a 90% failure rate. They drop stuff off at house # 2001, instead of 2201. I have contacted them and complained to no end. I have talked to the drivers. I have talked to the local manager in Raeford. Zero results. Local manager told me that Fedex NEVER makes mistakes like that, it is ALWAYS delivered to the address on the package. Yeah, right. I'll see on tracking it's been delivered, then walk or drive up there to get it off their porch.

Anyway, I had to stay close to home all day yesterday waiting for a Fedex package that was signature required. Lots of time, they'll come by the house right after lunch, but I really wasn't expecting it, since they are busy with Christmas shipping. Around 11am, I did an online chat with Fedex, explained that they were delivering 9/10 wrong, and if they could message the driver, be sure he came to 2201 since I had to sign for it.. Customer service said they had no way at all to contact a driver. Lie?

At 3:01pm I got an email that an exception had occurred. Online chat with Fedex to see what was up. Package was being returned to the hub for "inspection". That was all the info they had. Another lie? I looked online at the tracking... said "returned to facility for inspection" and "refused by recipient -- package damaged". OK, I'm good with that. Except I, the recipient, had not seen, nor refused it. Another lie?

Did another online chat with Fedex...they said yes, it had been delivered, but refused. I walked up the street to see if anyone was home at 2001 that would have refused it. As normal, they were at work. Another lie?

This morning, did an online chat with Fedex, to see what the results were of the "inspection". Outer packaging destroyed, contents damaged, some apparently missing. Another lie? Time will tell.... They were returning to vendor, and vendor should ship a replacement upon receipt. I contacted the vendor, they had already received the damage/return to sender info from Fedex, and a replacement was already being shipped out my way. (I think that was the only truth I had heard from anyone).

So....lie, after lie, after lie, after lie....from Fedex....then the biggie....about 1:45 this afternoon, a Fedex truck pulls up. Has the package -- 51 pounds worth. Unopened, undamaged. This was a power tool in a case. Case OK, opened it up, no missing parts, no damage. There were probably 10 pieces of paper in the outer box...all loose...but apparently all there. So, this "damaged" package wasn't damaged after all. Original tape from shipper was intact, so the "inspection" was just to look at the outer box.

My guess is....the driver was running behind yesterday (or just wanted to get off early), knew he'd never get everything delivered, so started marking them "damaged" or whatever instead of even attempting to deliver.

edit: tracking shows "Signed for by DAVID". Chalk up another one....I didn't sign a thing when she dropped it off.

total b.s. Seems like every time ive had problems with shipping it was fedex.

Seems like i may have had a thread here once titled fedex sux

My girlfriend has multiple problems with UPS. Packages are delivered and left on the driveway even though she has signage for packages to go to the front porch. The dogs get a hold of them and destroy them. This and multiple ruts in the front yard where the driver runs off the driveway

Our new regular fedex driver is terrified of our dogs, we never get the package delivered to us. It goes to our neighbor or back to the hub. There’s always a note in our mailbox stating one of a few lies(never the truth. Our old fedex driver would stop in just to see/pet the dogs and throw the ball with them, kinda strange but whatever, we always got our packages.

Our house is off the road and cant be seen from the road at night. At the entrance of the driveway theres an old block building that needs torn down.It does not belong to us but we have a right away across the property.Pretty shady lookin place to be honest but I'm not cleaning it up at my expense.Last Christmas I heard something running outside about 10pm.I went outside and it was the fed ex guy.He was a big black dude and he was all freaked out about being up here at night. He said he was raised in Jersey but was scared of these TN back roads at night. He probably would have been more scared if he knew I had put a 38 in my pocket on the way out the door.

I get most stuff sent to my office. They seem to give a fuck when delivering to a commercial address.

At the house they like to deliver to one of the neighbors, who will usually show up after a day or two and give it to me. That's right, a day or two after I get a "delivered" tracking listing.

I had fedex and have payed more to have it shipped another way. Had the same problem last year would get several packages for my neighbors, talked to driver next week same shit, talked to neighbor and told them what was up, they let me know next time something was suppose to be delivered. I was home at lunch when it showed up, confronted drive. He said it’s one house away and close enough. I put it in my driveway and drove over it told him he could explain how he had delivered it to wrong house and me not expecting a package drove over someone else package since then they make sure it’s at the right house.

I actually just emailed FedEx to brag on my usual driver. He's gone out of his way for me 3 times just last week...even called me to make sure I'd be home to sign for a package and told me who to call to find my missing tire after three got delivered and one was left at the hub by the loaders.

Suck up

I do shipping for the company I work for. Fed ex might as well be a part of USPS.
Very easy way to tell the difference between ups and FedEx, the drivers for ups have been the same for years, as fedex has a new driver each month.
I would guess ups pays better, so it retains better employees.
Sad so many companies don't realize slightly higher pay means so much better employees.

My address is 4917 Lebanon ROAD 28227, There is also a 4917 Lebanon DRIVE 28277. USPS and mostly Fedex used to screw it up constantly. I actually started communicating with the people on DRIVE so we could alert each other when we got each other's packages. One time I got home and there was building materials for a complete home addition in my driveway. I called the building supply company and told them their screw up and to come and remove this stuff under one condition, bring small trucks and load it by hand, trusses and all. I have a asphalt driveway and did not want a big truck and forklift on it!

Aren't Fed-Ex drivers all independent owners? I.E. they buy their truck, and route?

My Ghetto fabolous Fed-Ex twatwaffle has a 15yr old SRW chevy box van that leaks oil. I've caught him twice pulling into my concrete driveway and walking up towards my garage door....getting within 20ft or so, then chucking the package AT my garage door, then backing out and hauling ass. I saw from a distance in the woods and couldn't get too his retarded ass before he bolted.

I always know when Fed-ex deliveries arrive...I can see them as I crest the hill of the neighborhood

Once I was in the garage with the doors up at my workbench on a Friday and a broke-ass looking crack-whore base model dodge minivan from the early 2000's with windows so nasty there was no way to see in (or out) of them came pulling up, damn near INTO my garage. I had my sidearm in hand, and out of holster ready to put sights on him when he pops out in his uniform and a package. I took THAT opportunity to ask him to never pull in my driveway again. No idea if he took that advice, but I'm quite certain he saw me reholster to take the package from him. His eyes had quite a bit more white appearing than when he popped OUT of that rolling turd.

Anytime I order from Amazon I take the opportunity to request NO Fed-Ex delivery. Hell I'll PAY for UPS:kaioken:

I’m an instant gratification kind of guy. I always buy from a store rather than having to wait on whatever I’m looking for.

Fed ex delivered my sons youth weight set the other day. They left it on the porch with some weights missing, a big hole in the box and one weight sitting on top of the box.

All the FedEx guys (and grouchy USPS lady) are scared of our dogs, the UPS guy pulls up in the driveway and Sarge jumps up in his truck... Granted our blue heeler is the one to be afraid of, not Sarge. If anyone knows Sarge, the USPS lady said Sarge showed his teeth to her. Haha yeah right...

That's my understanding and that might explain why they change drivers soo much.We use USPS and Fed Ex both around here.

We actually have a great fedex guy. They are independently owned unlike UPS though, the driver owns the truck and route from what I understand. But I also have all my packages delivered to my office which is a commercial address, mostly because somebody is there all day.

I do the same, but my wife works from home. All her next day confidential HR documents go to the house. And for some reason IBM/Truven uses Fed-ex more than USPS and UPS

Our regular drivers are pretty good. The seasonal people, not so much. My neighbors and I get to exchange Christmas gifts this time of year. I gave 3013 her gift that she was waiting on last night after UPS brought it to 3012.

My neighbor doesn’t leave his house. Him nor his wife. They order everything online. If amazon would ship him gas for his lawnmower I don’t think he’d ever leave. Weird couple. That being said, we keep a steady stream of delivery trucks in and out and it’s usually the same drivers. We all benefit in the delivery department from those neighbors. Drivers from all services have our area nailed down.
