Congrats on what sounds like a fun job. My condolences that it's in Florida. I never liked Florida when I lived there. GL!

It’s official, by the end of the month I’ll be living in Florida.

Time to move back to where I originated and I just landed a pretty sweet gig down there today.

I’ll be the new US location Production Manager for Legoland. They are owned by a group called Merlin Entertainment based out of the UK and they are the second largest Theme Parks company in the world. Second only to Disney.

I’ll be running the production facility where they build the models for Legoland and other commissioned projects. I have a design and engineering team, a build team and Metal Fabrication team with a full machine shop. And taking each project from concept to Installation.

There’s also a great deal of growth opportunities in the Company and potential International travel.

I’m extremely pumped about this as well, my nerves are a fucking train wreck thinking about all aspects of relocating.

That is the COOLEST job ever! My dad was a typical engineer type - he was Civil/Mechanical and dabbled here there and everywhere. He was one of the foremost experts at the time for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerencing (even started a business with another engineering buddy of his teaching it). He worked for Ford Tractor Division, GM Hydromatic, Allied Signal, Bosch Safety..... you name it. At his retirement party from Bosch I remember him saying, "All I ever wanted to do was build toys". He was always fascinated with the Lego creations I'd build, but he never had time - he was always working.

Have fun!!!!

I know a couple places where he could make a fortune teaching that to the same people over and over.

He did find out quickly that he loved doing it, but hated teaching it. Apparently, as with every grade level, there are those who sign up for a class and have no interest/ability to learn.

If there was a fortune made, it was a small fortune. And it probably took a big fortune to make it.

Damn, and I thought I had a cool job. Congrats!

stealing this right here.......God how I know the truth of this.

And Good Luck down farther South. If you can bottle up some of that humidity and send it even farther south.
