What To Charge?

Are we talking 10' wide at the bottom, or 10' wide at the top?

One is a HUGE ditch, the other is...uhh...I mean....unheard of?

His original post said 10' wide, but would he sloped so it would he wider than 10' at the top. As others have said, sounds more like a moat than a ditch.

Have you seen Kevin operate equipment? It would take him four years.

He has helped up at my land some, I could just about hop off one machine and get in another quicker than he can do what I want him to do.

All I can imagine it is to drain a wetland/swamp and what CastorTroy said #15. If that's true the state/co. will find out sooner or later. They often find things like that when they update aerial maps. W/O permits or their blessing there would no doubt be fines and remediation/restoration of the swamp/WL $$$$$$

It's definitely not wetlands. My cousin who is also my neighbor works for the ACOE. I know all about the unrelenting ass reaming they would hand over.

I mentioned it to the guy again today. He said he'd let me know what exactly it is they want done. It's probably going to wind up being something unrealistic. We'll see.

Good point.

It's not any worse than this guy up the road from me that wants a 1 acre pond. He said as payment I could have the dirt. Brilliant... I actually had to explain to him why he wouldn't get anyone to agree to that deal.

Sounds like you have made a lot of friends now that they know you have a mini ex. :lol:
 
I already knew both people...they just wanted me to do stupid stuff. I'm really good at saying "no" when it's not going to make me any money or I just don't want to do it.

It's kinda like when you have a truck or a trailer, I guess.
 
With a mini ex your going to be there for months full time, on a job that size, I might be interested, break out the EX 200 and the D3, excavator $100 an hour, D3 $80, you are talking thousands of yards dirt! Probably rent a offroad dumptruck.
That sounds like a 100k job all day long!
