New to the 4x4 world and N.C. looking for easy trails to start

I don’t eat pigeons from near the pigeon river.
Fun fact, the Pigeon River is named for the Passenger Pigeon which is now extinct.

There is a group in canton called Appalachain 4x4 we have a meeting every other Tuesday night. Your welcome to come out. Also we have several members that own property on hurricane creek. In a few weeks once I get my Jeep back together I’d be glad to make a run down hurricane.

hell yeah, sounds fun, whats the next tuesday you meet and where? ill see if i can make it. right now the truck has bout 50% tread left on the stock 31" tires. probably need to get some new ones soon.

Those ZR2’s are one of my all time favorite body’s. You even have the best looking wheels. IMHO, some good old fashioned mud terrains will take you pretty far as a beginner.

i love s10's!! i have a 2002 black one lowered that im putting a 6.0L in. but yeah, i found this zr2 in a barn getting old, been in there since 2012, i had to rescue it and for a dam good deal might i add. it has the stock 31" tires on it now with about 50% tread. what size tire would you recommend? its not going to be my daily driver but would also like to drive it on weekends to go kayaking and stuff...

It wouldn’t hurt my feelings to keep it stock height and OE tire size. Maybe up one size if it doesn’t scrub. Here’s a picture of mine. Although it’s completely dismantled for me to build a buggy next. I still have love for S10’s.

My dad has a 96 GMC Highrider same thing as a ZR2. A 31 is about all that will fit without trimming as his rubs a little when it has a brand new set of tires.
