Also, I am turned off right away if someone posts pics and they still have trash and personal belongings in it. I see it as if you don’t care enough to get your kids 4 pairs of shoes, toys, 3 hoodies and some McDonalds drive thru trash out and at least half heartedly vacuum it out, I assume they are lazy and decided to sell kind of randomly and wasn’t cared for very well.

Also, if it’s been smoked in I’m out.
 
Not a visual cue, but if they are 100% unwilling to supply requested pictures, OR they answer all questions with one word.....I am typically out
 
When it looks too nice...

IDK how to explain it, but when an older vehicle has been deep deep deep detailed like you can see on a bunch of lower end dealerships, it is suspicious to me. Screams that they are trying to conceal something to me...

Clean seat covers and a dirty or greased up interior. Seats are probably trashed with a pillow under the cover. Cover that up, they’re usually covering other stuff up. And check the oil. If it’s clean and thick, 50 weight can cover a lot of problems.

I found an Xterra on here that I purchased and sold about a year and a half later that definitely had issues but did run and drive. Spent too much money and time fixing all the "little things" and it definitely had a transmission issue. I was stripping another Xterra for parts so I included all the needed parts with the sale and disclosed everything I knew and did about the vehicle. It was, however, as clean as I could get it and would drive on the road okay. When it comes to buying/selling disclosure is the key. I don't care if something doesn't work, just tell me what you did to it and what you know.
 
I have seen several marketplace ads that the pictures avoid one particular area. As on the whole vehicle is documented except for the left front corner. Every time I ask for poc of that area I either get no response or the area is crushed.

Then there are the ones where they took the pics through a screen window, or the car is wet to hide bad paint.

Although I did see one ad where the rear of the truck looked perfect and the front was wrapped around a tree. He put the pics in the ad. Story was that he got out and forgot to put it in park. He did say it ran when it was parked.

I was looking at a truck once out in Winston and the guy had pics but hid the back. Said it had some light damage on the rear of the bed but wasn't bad. I finally got him to send me pics before I left and the whole corner was caved in. Needed bumper, bed, tailgate, etc. Um, no thanks bud.
