Just got my project pretty much finished, added a windshield and side steps. Nothing left but a few misc "trim" pieces, and getting it dirty.
Sweet. I have a '50 3a on my project to do list, I picked up a Pinto 2.3 L for it and an AMC 2.5. Not sure which I may end up using.

@amcjeepman If you end up using the Pinto 2.3, I have the "short" bellhousing from the early 2.3/2.0 that is needed to use a Novak adapter to the T-90. It's a fairly rare piece. I'd make you a really good deal, I need it out of my garage :). The later EFI 2.3 I used was mated to a T-5, and unbeknownst to me it was a completely different bellhousing pattern, I ended up having to fabricate one.

Looks great with those gloss black wheels. I am having a set of Moabs coated.
Do dark gray, not black! Dark gray looks good, black looks like you're a member of the lost wheels club. Personal preference, but I hate black wheels because they just blend in with the tire and fenderwheel and look like an empty patch of nothingness. Especially flat black wheels.

I did the wheels on one of my F350s in battleship gray. I liked them.

Once Summer settles down and I am back in town for awhile I plan to get back working on my next Jeep project since my '83 Scrambler is now complete.

1984 Alaskan Postal Scrambler. Bought it about 5 years ago out of Ohio. For those not in the know these are right hand drive Scramblers with a factory world cab metal top and rear barn door. It also had sharp edge doors as also found on the Tugs. Despite bad info found on the interwebs there were only 230 ever produced as verified through multiple trusted sources. They all came from the factory all white with blue interior / headliner on the hardtop. All 230 were shipped to Anchorage Alaska for use as US Postal delivery vehicles.

Mine was sold to Washington State. They had the blue and red pin stripes applied and used them for Postal duty. A guy in Ohio bought 4. Kept one for himself and put the other 3 up for sale. I snagged the one shown below.

My plan is to restore it with some tasteful bolt-on mods (such as a passenger seat since they only came with a driver's seat, upgraded brake booster system, etc.) that could easily be taken back off. I would like to show it / drive it some and then will sell it. While I love the rarity it's just not a Jeep I want to keep.

Agreed - the Spring Special is on the rare side as well as a one year only color and not ever used on any other AMC vehicle either. 307 of them made. Saving it til after cause I’ll probably keep it. I have already sourced NOS interior for it. Black seats with orange piping - yes please!

Here’s the funny part. The Spring Special was for sale in Lexington just listed as a CJ7 with pics taken by an old camera in the dark and I noticed it had a set of Limited wheels on it. Combine that with a hard top and hard doors (Spring Specials could only be ordered with soft tops and soft doors) and just in those parts I had more than their asking price. I was planning on buying a parts Jeep and making some cash. Only when I got there did I realize it was a Spring Special. Paid the man his asking price and loaded her up!

have since sold the top, doors and wheels and paid for the Initial price of the Jeep

Wow, you're going to have a great time restoring/modifying this vehicle. I haven't seen a Postal Scrambler in so long. You can look up 4WheelOnline in case you need some aftermarket parts for that car.

Ready for some cruising the back roads this weekend. Awesome weather! Then heading to CO for some great wheeling in 10 days. Getting excited 😆
