Color of an oreo cookie

What color is the cookie of a traditional Oreo

This is the raging debate in my house and now among some (half drunk) neihghbor buddies.
Important questions for a Friday night.
 
They are dark brown inside, but the sheen from the cookie press looks black, especially when contrasted with the white cream. However, the proper appearance is more of a milky white coating in groups of a half dozen or so.
 
wtf is wrong with you people.
Hold a cookie up against something that is definitely back.
Its brown.

That's like saying eggs aren't white because they aren't definitely white. Are oreos true black? No. Are they closer to black than brown? Yes.

Sorry, I guess I just disagree.

Black is a pretty specific, narrow range of color while brown is much more broad.

You just got to eat enough Oreo cookies. I was raised on them, grandfather passed on his daily routine to me. Little Debbie or Oreo cookies daily. If its a good day both. Lunch and supper snacks.

The wife gave my son and I a pack of Oreo cookies each for Valentines Day, funny we didn't get her nuthin:(
