high tall can it go? I have a firm that's taking down 2 trees in my front yard with a robot and the price blow my mind! $1400 for the 28" w the tape and the other red oak to the right to just putting them on the ground. We had few other estimates for just the big oak more that were twice $1400View attachment 393831

Man…I’m getting tired of tree quotes. I have 3 trees just off my back patio, I’d cut myself if I had a lift tall enough. Everyone knows a guy that’ll do it for $4-700/tree…call them…then I get a $4-7k quote. Just need a lift so I can perform some OSHA violations.

Also…in case anyone was wondering…’sharp knife’ English to Latvian translation:

Just rent a towable lift or a boom lift from herc or Sunbelt. Easy peasy.

I wont even guess what he would price, but my brother does landscaping and tree work. I can give you his info if you want it.

I guess I got lucky on my trees.Greeneville Light and Power took down 9 of ours for ZERO $$$'s cause they were a threat to the power lines. We had a huge Sycamore in the front yard that was rotten and needed to come down but they took it down before we did.

Yeah…at first thought I could use the genie boom from work…lift height vs what I felt comfortable topping didn’t align. But I finished some gutter work at my parents house. Then everyone started telling me about ‘their guy’. Been striking out that way for a few weeks. I fell about 50 trees a couple years back on this half acre property…only took about 2 weekends. I think the proximity to houses is what’s causing the price hike. A 60’ boom from the local sun belt is $700 for the day…so I’m sure I will go that route.

Sunbelt will rent that lift for 250/day

Rented a 45 foot drivable unit twice for two different trees. One we needed another 25 feet of lift. Got all I could and tied it of to my tractor. Made a pull dead against the lean and heavy mass(it extended over our back porch and rear of house). Wedge and pull managed a fell 45 degrees to the line tension right between a Koi pond and another tree. Had the wife in the lift, she wasn't happy to help. The other was next to the three phase that runs right in our yard. Wet green branches and power lines don't mix. Got one heck of a tingle. Probably should be dead. We stopped for the day. I was nursing a really sore shoulder. It was but I didn't tell the family why.

Any day, any average 4 - 6 lane highway, average drivers. You-all be Careful, out there!
The comments are "interesting too", if you scroll down that far. I even threw in my penny's worth.
Cadillac Escalade Takes Out Mercedes-Benz On The Highway: Video
Mercedes should have never been getting in the left lane anyway. They were going slower than the cars in the center lane! Drivers Ed in this country is useless. They spend so much time on useless crap and teach nothing about traffic flow, yielding, roundabouts, how to PUT DOWN YOUR DAMN PHONE AND GO WHEN THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, etc

When I worked for Concrete Supply, I poured many a hole at Westinghouse [Seimans] plant in Charlotte. A few, I could have put my 4 room house in! They Had to be .0000000 vibration proof!
I’ve been to the Siemens plant several times. It’s an impressive facility, they build large steam turbines and large generators there. When they balance a large rotor that weighs 200 tons, your concrete better not move.

Jeepinmatt went there a few times a week to surf Craigslist for like a decade. I bet he's got some good stories.
