Any tips on some good deals this weekend?

... particularly in M18 Fuel, would love to get a string trimmer and/or chainsaw

For the broker people that are using craftsman like me. Lowes has a deal right now you buy there 99 dollar 20v battery and charger you can get certain bare tools for free. I got their biggest impact 1/2 inch and 20v battery and charger for 105 out the door.

Is this a good deal on Milwaukee?

M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Compact Drill/Impact Combo Kit (2-Tool) W/ (2) 2.0Ah Batteries, Charger & Bag

$199

Haunting Lowes website every day will eventually get you a deal. About 3 years ago I caught 2 DeWalt tools I wanted on sale plus 2 free 6ah batteries (about $100ea usually). Nothing was announced, you have to look daily.

The 2.0 batteries are a bit on the small side. Also, the "Brushless" line is in this weird place where it's more expensive than the standard units, but not as good as the "Fuel" series. I don't know how much better it is.

A good compromise would probably the same Brushless kit, but with a 2.0 and 4.0 battery.

When I first started my Milwaukee addiction, I bought the Fuel drill with two 4.0 batteries, and then bought the bare tool 1/2" drive impact. The drills are strong enough that you don't really need an impact for most things, and I use the impact all the time around the shop, much moreso than for woodworking, so the conventional square drive is much more useful for sockets and such.

Ok I forgot to be looking for the Fuel line. I've killed two Kobalt drills and want to step up and was looking for something I could get with maybe 0% interest. I love buying things on other peoples money.

Also check Northern Tool. They usually have the same prices as the other guys, but you can usually find coupon codes for $20 off or something ;)

Looked like a good deal so I ordered one.

Milwaukee 2967-20 M18 FUEL ½ Inch High Torque Impact Wrench

Edit: I don’t k ow why the link says robot or human, but it’s walmart’s website that has the deal. With tax it was $234.

I don't think Walmart is an authorized seller, which means if you have issues they may not warranty it.

I sent a drill straight to Milwaukee i bought at the trade lot.....I dont think they ask to many questions on where they come from, just so long as the dates on them not over 5 years old or something like that.

Send it to me. If it has a SERNO I can swap it out. Sent one on the other day that got ran over by a dozer on concrete. Still had a serial number, no issue.
Yep my toolco guy says if it’s got a SN I can fix it. If SN is less than 5 it’s warranty

Home depot has some good deals on Milwaukee right now. I bit the bullet and started switching my tools to Milwaukee.

Yep it's not their m18 fuel line, but I checked the specs on the drivers and they are only slightly less rated than the fuel and are brushed vs brushless. But for how often I use them it will be fine and I'll keep adding batteries and single tools as I find deals or need something

I have the M18 version of the drill and the impact driver, but would really like the m12 stuff for inside the house, and I have been wanting the ratchet also (but I don't think the ratchet is fuel)... hmmm

Until reading this thread and seeing @skyhighZJ mention of warranting someones tool, I wasn't aware of their warranty. I have a 3 year old 1/2" impact that let the magic smoke out a few weeks ago.
I filed a claim online, was emailed a shipping label, sent off, repaired and back to me within a week for 100% free.
Can't beat that!
Of course prior to knowing, I bought a Fuel 1/2" gun. But now I have a dedicated spare tire gun for traveling and trail repairs.

They are good and quick. Biggest thing is the serial number. It comes off, gets worn off pretty easy if you’re actually “using” the tool. Heard they were trying to remedy that but just got a new 1/2” fuel, 3/8”fuel, and 1/4” driver yesterday at work and they still have the cheap foil sticker label on the side w/ serno embossed. It would be better if it was stamped into the foil.

Mine is the gun I use for differential tear down and assembly, aside from the crush sleeve. It's been well used, beaten to death and smells like ass. Luckily the serial number was readable!
