Random pic thread.

I have a hard tonneau cover, but wanted to add a tool box underneath. Found the "right' one from UWS. But, I wanted to still be able to haul a couple or three sheets of plywood in the bed with the gate up. So, I built a riser. Had just enough room to give me 3" clearance underneath.

The riser frame:

Box closed, cover folded and flipped up: (not bolted down yet...it's turned a little and looks crooked)

Open: (box is 24x48, lid is about 12x48):

Looking up under with tonneau closed up:

Outside tonneau closed: (Don't say it...I just got the truck washed and detailed last week).

Dang thing went up about $150 since I bought it last month. I got it at 679, less 20% coupon at Zoro (and free LTL shipping).

Years ago they use to have mud races every other weekend one county over from me.A guy I know had a squarebody truck he ran there for a while. When he sold the truck to me it had pieces of the clutch disc sticking thru the floor pan.

Since you got it a roller i can come get it out of your way to make more room in the shop. lol.
That truck will go to my son if I never have the money to restore it. My “uncle” bought it in 1950 I believe. I drove it around the shop yard in the 90’s. Flat head v8 with a three on the tree.

I don't blame you on keeping it. I have seven of them trucks from 48 to 52 I bought my uncles 1950 ford f-1 after he was killed. I bought it when i was 17 still have it i just turned 59 a few days ago. Getting ready to restore it have most of the parts i need just got to make time now. It will go to my son or daughter depends on which cars they want when i die. ]
hope to sort that out before i die so they don't argue over them same goes for my guns and property to.

There was half a bag of oil dry on the floor. Came back today. Trying to get motivated and not work on things. I did put the 231 out of my 94 Dodge back together. @LT1JEEP got a good hood you want to get rid of for a 51?
