@jcramsey sniffed out the deal of the day for me at lowes yesterday. 144 1x4x8 primed for $50. A couple pieces with some water staining but the rest of the pack was primo

Took a scenic route yesterday via Old NC 105. Beautiful view of Table Rock, the opposite side that we are used to seeing from 181. We stopped at that lookout for a picnic on the tailgate.
Saw a little Cherokee have to get yanked out of the ditch; had New Jersey plates and the kid couldn’t have been but about 16 or 17.

I like sheetz, but yea. It's a nice gas station. It's a nice clean pit stop.

I dont really get the hype either, besides that, and they have some good road snacks. The wife wants to stop at them because they always have a clean bathroom.

I get that it’s just a gas station, but Buc-ee’s food is significantly better than any gas station alternative (to me) and candidly beats most any fast food drive thru

That's a big thing for me, and why I like sheetz. I can't stand a filthy bathroom. I'd rather just find some brush...

I may drop by on the way back and get some brisket.
 
The chopped brisket sandwich and their fresh jerky is awesome! Honey jalepeno is the best! With all of the free samples of each! mmmmmm

And for someone that doesn't like stopping a bunch on road trips its easy to check all the boxes in one stop. Not having to hit multiple places off an exit or multiple stops to get decent food, fuel, snacks, drinks, bathroom etc.
