If you missed it here, all the bolts that hold the AA adapter to the arse end of the TH-400 pulled the threads this weekend at URE.
Wasn't on it or anything, just rolling thru a nuisance trail to another place, when the sounds started... shut it down and found everything from the adapter back hanging by the mount...
Soliciting info on "best" repair short of a Reid case (if an AMC-belled TH-400 was even an option, likely out of the budget)
- Helicoil? My "best available data" (BAD) info says helicoiled will be stronger that the originals?
- Other stake able insert? But not sure the castings would take the radial force of the stakes?
- Punch the holes out, thread 7/16", and glue in some studs?
