Diesel Truck Advice

The suspense is killing me man... buy something soon so I can sleep 🤣
If this guy will ever respond to my messages, I intend to lol.

Seems to be more and more common for people on marketplace to not respond to messages. Even when you say, "Hey, I want to buy your item. When can I come get it?" No questions, no negotiation, just I want to buy your crap....and no response.

I had a V10 Super Duty, it was a good truck despite 10mpg 😅

Lol yeeeaaaaa. But when it only drives less than 5k miles a year, I can live with that.

I agree!
And I think it’s funny that almost every ad says “do not ask if this is still available. If it is still posted, it is available“. But then when you go to message someone, Facebook defaults the text to “is this still available?“ You would think Facebook would change that default text. :)

It does, sometimes.

I’m just down the road so holler if need be

You don't happen to know the guy or the truck do you? Really like that one, but he's not responded. I assume it's sold, but would like to know. It's currently down to that one or a chevy 6.0 in Mt airy.

Alright. Im between the 05 F250 V10 and a Chevy 2500 with 6.0. Purely mechanical and towing wise, which would yall take? The Ford has 4 full doors so its ahead in that front.

That is where I am getting 8-9mpg towing and 12-13mpg otherwise with my Ram. In four years it logged 16k; the fuel mileage does not compete against all the other things that cost money on it (insurance, taxes, registration) to justify something with better mileage.

The Chevy will ride better. The Ford will work better for you since its a crewcab. Maintenance is a crapshoot on either 20 year old truck, both are reasonably reliable. Both are platforms that have aged well and have plenty of parts and fixes for common reliability issues. V10 will suck more fuel, but 6.0 is no econocar either. If I were in your shoes, I'd buy the V10 Ford.

did he finally respond?

Welp, ford guy quit responding and the listing was removed. Guess that's that then.

Are both '05s?

Edit - nevermind saw you last post after i hit reply.

I'm a "ford guy" but the 6.0 XL80 GM platform is pretty reliable.
The Chevy front end will wear out and be more costly than the ford.

I don’t but I found his address on GIS if you want me to go shit on his doorstep? The Chevy would’ve been my first choice though.

Interesting. Besides the blue oval I n the ford..... why is it more expensive?
The Ford will YEET those plugs at some point. But the Chevy front end will net about the same cost
