I need to ship a large rear toolbox for a Jeep CJ to a friend in France. Never sent anything larger than a letter before.
Any advice, resources?
Thanks.

If you don’t shrink wrap it to a pallet and/or protect it with a frame, it will probably get destroyed. Seems like my previous employer may have used DHL when we shipped stuff to France.

Edited to add: when we shipped stuff overseas, the containers were worth more than the product inside 😂

I have a free shipping method for the tool box if it's not oversized. Hear me out...There's a theme park in France that you might be interested. You pack all your clothes in the tool box, and your mickey ears, check it as you one free piece of luggage and take it with you. Have your friend foot the bill for the plane ticket as it'll be about the same cost as shipping. Then you either leave your clothes behind or you have to get a piece of luggage for the return trip. Just a thought...

Good luck fitting that tool box in the standard check bags size limit

But the truth is this is real.
We've had cases where we needed to ship a one of a kind hand made irreplaceable item and the cost of sending a guy with it in his bag was negligibly different than secure freight that we had confidence would make it

But, do you declare the item?

Honestly curious

Nope its never been necessary.
Typically the hardest part is getting through TSA w/o having to answer questions if its a weird looking electronic thing.

Oh also pro tip - they don't like head-shaped objects with wires inside made of ballistics gel.

My friend actually suggested I just fly over and bring it, It would definitely be oversized for checked baggage though. Plus, there are two different Jeep events he wants me to attend next year if I can.
I would like to visit that theme Park! ;)
