whats so great about them? Can u get aluminum rock rings also? Can u air down and not care about losing a bead?

rock rings are just to help protect the bead of the rims. (rim stiffeners) They are not beadlocks. They are usually used with internal beadlocks.

The DIY weld on bead lock kits is what you would want if you want a cheaper alternative for a real beadlock to run low pressure.

when installed properly, the internal beadlocks offer a double beadlock... most people would then run a rim stiffener to keep the bead from getting bent up...

you could also run the weld on beadlocks... if you have aluminum wheels you can get an aluminum ring for them, but most people would want a steel outer ring to help resist warping and gouging....

the tire has an inner tube type device that is inflated to apply pressure to the bead from the inside out, which keeps the bead from being pressed in.
