Time Warner just jacked my bill by $23.00 a month! I've got basic with no frills and Road Runner that is great and no problems ever. But with $114.88 a month is too much. What are you paying and is it any good? I have not had a land line in five years and really don't want one so this might a problem with Internet hook ups. So give me some options.:shaking::shaking:

Yep, thats time warner for you. They jacked up my bill twice in 6 months. I went from paying 90 per month to 130. I threatened to drop them and the customer service guy acted like he could care less (after waiting for 40 min to get someone on the phone). I got Directv and I love it. The channel lineup is better and considerably less expensive. I have never had a land line. Admittedly, I am using my neighbors wireless at the moment . I dont have any experience with satelite internet or clearwire, but the option is there. I have no regrets about getting rid of time warner.

Dropped TW last year when I was laid off.. Been on DSL for intarweb and other than the crappy reception of the new digital cable I don't miss paying those ass holes $120 (at that time) per month.. I would pay $20 for basic cable but the whole bundle stuff is BS. They get you hooked then jack the price figuring you won't switch. They know digital cable sucks and for many people they don't have many other options.

drop down to RR lite. I did this about 4 yrs ago and barely notice the cut in bandwidth. My basic cable +RRlite comes in around $90/month. I think it went up $5-10/month recently.

You can get DSL without having to have a phoneline with Att. Sat internet is not a great choice, Kinda a theres no other option thing, there really high and its not real fast.

I have DSL and its been really good, I pay $37 for 3.0

I have Dish Network for TV prices are pretty Decent, Snow does cause issues with my recep. Before this year I havn't had an issue.

Call in to cancel. Tell them you are switching to a cheaper service. They will try to get you to stay. Tell them you need $60 a month and be firm but a little flexible and see if they don't come close. The catch is you have to call in every 6 months.

TW did the samething with me. I had my wife call (I don't have the patients for them) and by the end of the call we had upgraded and were paying less then before. Only problem was a two year contract but the price is locked for two years and my wife was on the phone for an hour.

same junk here. I am about to switch dish network for tv and att for internet. I am doing this thing where I will get paid a residual to use these services now. Still beats the heck out of twc.

boxee.tv

Pretty much, ive currently got tw cable but they cut me a pretty huge deal, internet and cable for 75 a month bundled through my apartment or something, the only tv I seem to watch anymore is sports or the extra channels I only get in my living room. Love the military channel and speed tv but hate that I can't get it without a digital hookup.

Did this as well. But the wife works from home so we can write it off

FWIW, my buddy has Dish and is switching to Directv at the end of his contract. Dish has a bunch of "filler" channels that aren't worth a crap. I mean, who really needs 10+ home shopping network channels?

i've got dish network we've got the basic channels (34.99/month), and then have verizon wireless for internet (21.99/month). Other than living in the mountains and we have been very happy with both of them. I'm a collage student so of coarse we shopped around for the best deals

I have Time Warner's cheapest basic cable package (about 20 channels) for $16/month, and Bellsouth/ATT's cheapest DSL internet for another $20/month. That's all I need... and not a bad deal for a total of $36/month.

x2 on Hulu and the other online TV websites. I went a few years without cable and got by quite well on Youtube, Hulu, and a few others.

We got dish network and we get wireless from the in-laws next door. Pretty sweet deal. Dish rarely if ever goes out, if it does go out it's bad enough the power probably is going to go out too.

I got TW to do basic cable and regular RR (not lite or ultra) for $85 / month w/2year contract. After telling them I was leeaving for a better offer of course.

Thanks guys, I'll do something, been thinking of a air card also, I know i'll lose a lot of speed but I could at least took it with me to fl. last month. Wats up James?
