You know why I did that right???

I collected a 33gallon trash bag full and brought it home and went through and recycled all the bottles and cans. You know why I did that?? Because I care and love 4 wheeling more than anyone I know. Just because I dont wheel a rig and have all the kool stuff doesn't mean I dont care about our sport. Another reason is that "someday" when I get a rig again I want to be able to drive the trails I watch everyone else have so much fun on.:driver: I can't stand it when I see trash on the trails and garbage in the woods. And especially when I know its beer and the people that bring it throw the cans in the woods so they don't get caught with it on the way back to the garbage cans along the main road. 4 wheelers are the biggest problem with that and 1 day because of BS like that and driving off the trails they will ruin and get it shut down for all of us. I will be soooooo :kaioken: if that happens. I told everyone on the hill that if they enjoyed the show and wanted to continue to have fun and watch stuff like that then they needed to help keep the tree huggers and state and wildlife people off our backs.

I was suprised to see how many people actually helped out by picking up all kinds of new and old trash in the woods around them and they threw it down to me or put it in the bag for me and said "Thanks a lot" "your doing a wonderful job and setting a great example." What better to clean up trash while people are broke down and your waiting in line. Kill 2 jobs at 1 time.

**** I have to say it would not have been possible without help from thad and his trash bag and few wrappers and such that came out after his launch/rollover/airtime show he put on.*** DAMN those rockwells are strong:eek:

Dixie Run XX Tuesday

Dixie Run XX Tuesday

Kenneth, Crystal, and Larry squeezed into Larry’s Yota and headed off to fix the Bronco. Greg, Garth, Michael, and myself headed out a little later to meet them. We went down to trail 5 and found a mess. Seems the Forest Service decided to start the first stages of the ever talked about bridge construction over the river crossing. There were downed trees everywhere! I talked to the job foreman and explained to him about the event that was going on. He was nice and he and his crew (three of them total) took the saws, and track loader cleared the way so we could go across. We went up 5 to where the trees were across the trail where another group were standing wondering how they were gonna move them. Out comes Mr. Sthil, and some muscel, and they were gone. Thanks to Greg for bringing the saw, and to Michael for hauling it up. After meeting with up with Larry, Kenneth and Crystal, we decided to head over to School Bus. A very slow crawl up the carved out trail with scattered bolders, it’s another frame twister. Reaching the first obstacle it was pretty easy except for the rock ledge. The same place Kenneth ripped out his 3 link, and Greg his 4 link last year. I took the by pass so did Larry. Greg and Michael tried, and pulled rope. Somewhere down below Greg flopped his on it’s side. Bad line he said was the reason. A little further up, Michael flopped his. A very slow roll on it’s side. The ride up school is fun, a lot of finessing and slow crawling. A few 14 bolt traps along the way too. Once at the top we decided to take pinch Rock and head back out. Everyone made it fine with no real problems and very little damage. Back to camp after another fun day.

Dixie Run XX Wednesday

With the Hybrid still grounded from the broken axle, we took the Bronco of Crystal’s, My Jeep, Greg in his Jeep and Garth in his Goliath, and Micheal Riding with Larry since Michael had something let loose in his Ring and pinion the day before. After working on Goliath all morning into the noonish hours. Goliath was once more on it’s way back home, not getting to taste the real trails, due to fuel issues as was found out later.
We all headed up guardrail and Helicopter. All made it up Guardrail and Helicopter was made by all but Crystal. She made the rock face, but with a little wheel hop above that, she broke a front right axle. So she winched on up to fix it. It was kinda funny when a couple of real nice Jeeps come up, drove down the bypass on Helicopter, and then drove up. When the White with orange rollcaged Jeep drove up and parked beside the Bronco, he shouted I need a camera, a woman working on the truck while all the guys are watching. As if we had all rehearshed it, we rang out in a chorus of, “It’s her truck, she broke itâ€
After we got her fixed we went back down the bypass and the bypass to Guardrail, back to camp.

Very Nice!

Dixie Run XX Thursday

Dixie Run XX Thursday

Thursdays Group included Me in my Jeep, Greg in his, Larry in his Yota, and Garth in in Goliath, yes, Thursday was the first day that Garth got to actually wheel it on a trail! Also Jason Lacky showed up late Wednesday night to ride in his Red fourrunner. Kenneth and Crystal decided to take our friend Jeremy out on some easier trails since his Sami isn’t locked. So, the five of us headed to Peckerwood connector trail. Peckerwood isn’t a really long trail, and it has one mean obstacle. All five of had to winch. From there, we came back down 5 across the water crossing, and headed over to lower 2. As usual Lower 2 can be brutal. When we got there they were in the process of getting two broke rigs off of the trail. Once they were gone progress once again started, but another rig, a big Chevy truck separated his front drive shaft, after working to get the mangled splines back together they were on the way again. Soon though, he separated the drive shaft again, and was not able to put it together again. So the winch fest began. He ran out of power and his winch wouldn’t pull him. As this was all happening, there was a guy in a mostly stock CJ with 35 boggers trying to make his way up. It seemed the two of them, both the driver and the spotter, were out of their element to a degree. Larry Smith over heard them talking, when the driver put his head out the window and shouted “what’s the problem†his spotter’s response was,…….. “Big ass rocks!â€
We all got a laugh out of that one. About that same time, the sky went from a 3 o’clock cloudy sky, to a 8 o’clock dark sky in just a matter of minutes. Then it came, the sky opened up and we had a river running down lower two. Kenneth, Crystal and Jeremy had come over via the good road to watch us, and Kenneth in his usual CTB style, was down helping to spot the guys in front of us. Also using his winch rope from the hybrid from up top to help the Chevy truck out of the hole he was in. The little CJ winch several times, but made it without carnage. Then it was our turn. While it was raining, and everyone inside the rigs, the only spotting was done from the windshields, and rearview mirrors. We all made it just fine without carnage or winching. We did take the easier route to the left, but it was not an easy feat by no means. Once up, Larry and Jason decided to go onto Upper 2 and Greg, Garth, and myself all decided today would be a good day to make it back to camp while we still had daylight. The rain had stopped, but the spray from big tires had everyone a mess with splatter. Larry and Jason told us Upper two was a beast, and a winch fest for sure.
Another day, another good time. Back at Camp We found some carnage there too. My Tarp had partially come down and had some water build up, while Greg was not so lucky. His EZ up had become air born and punched a hole in his tent. We were lucky everything still mostly dry, while Greg wasn’t quite as lucky.

I looked at my pics last night with my family

They turned out great. A few pics of the Thad rollover and all the cool rigs that I saw. I need to take a ton more pics next year.

Michael, & the rest of the CTB'ers for allowing me hangout on the trails & back at camp!

Hopefully I'll have my issues resolved soon and can join you all on the trails!

I wanted to also tell everyone that there was a private and special camera crew there this year to film different things for the 20th dixie run.

We may be in it being that we were part of the vendors! We were set up along with Appalachian Metal Works. Look for lots of cool metal art, a Ready Welder sticker and an interview with "upnover".

Edit: YW Dave!

here's a few videos, the quality blows but we should be getting a better copy of all of them.

Thads rollover trying to make the last ledge...

And last, but certainly not least, this is what happened after we rolled Thad back over and the crowd wanted him to hit it again. Notice all the smoke at the begining of the video, it was going on for a loooong time before the video was ever shot...quite a beating indeed and by far the best show I saw.

Finaly got them up...Nothing special. These are mine and Bobbi's. She has some video she is supposed to send me...We will see what it looks like.
