05 up Dana 60 build. Advice needed.

The only negative to a single ended ram is get one side is stronger and moves more fluid, but the weak side is the same strength as both sides of a double ended ram are. It’s easier to package and work on, and you don’t have to add a wall of protection like a front mounted double ended.

You will not notice the imbalance from your steering wheel unless you’re going highway speeds

You gonna be around next weekend? I can swing by, drink your beer and throw spaghetti at the wall and see what's sticks.
Yeah Saturday come on by. I’ll be here

If you don't care about having the same lock to lock / turn ratio, this is the way.
I do have a big surplus center ram sitting around. Haha
Likely not doing this, but how would you go about it on a SD60?

Brakes might get in the way for rear mounting... Maybe one of the aftermarket/lighter brake options give you more room.

Likely still need a custom weld-on arm, or machine the top like the BKOR arms, but then also have a custom arm that came off the back.

I know very little about the SD60 stuff, but looking at pictures of the knuckles, this ^ seems to be the biggest challenge with a rear-facing steering arm. The factory caliper mount and caliper appears to be all up in the way.

In order to accomplish this, you would almost certainly have to use a smaller brake package, like this BKOR setup. 05+ Super Duty Light Weight Brake Rotor Package

Then the passenger side knuckle would need some custom work. 2 potential options might be:
1. A flat top knuckle (like a Reid) with a custom machined rear-facing bolt-on steering arm.
2. Factory knuckle with a custom weld-on rear-facing steering arm.

It would definitely take some figuring either way.

I've always used the barnes 4wd weld on high steer arms (I've done over 7 swaps using 05+ axles) and they're affordable and easy to weld on.
go with 10inch ram and you'll get full range steering.
I've had single ended and double and I honestly didn't notice much difference if my caster was set within reason
and bro you should highly consider the 6l80 behind the 6.0! 1st gear 4.11 ratio is awesome in Lo range and every Swap I've done those customers absolutely love the setup
