1/2 round molding

Cardinal Millwork maybe? Products

You making a bumper rail for a bar or something?

A lot of custom moulding places will run small quantities through the shaper and not charge a setup fee. I have a guy in Mooresville like that.

Just Google "trim moulding Winston Salem" or something along those lines.

Where can I find 2" wide 1/2 round molding in Winston-Salem?

Buy a 2" round dowel and run it through the table saw :D

2" is a weird size. Closet rod is only like 1.5 or 1.25.

Used to be able to get round wood handrail with narrow flat edge to mount brackets for mounting to wall. I remember it about 2".

I'm about 75% sure you can buy 2" round wood rod at Home Depot, and they have a saw to rip things.
At least I know I've had boards ripped down the middle at our local store before. Just not sure if they have wood rod that huge.

Hell, Winston is full of DIY guys, I'd bet you could find somebody that would rip it for you on their saw for a beer and a handshake. You're welcome to do it here at my house but the commute is a bit impractical.

Watching hardware store people figure out how to fixture a round rod to rip it should be priceless. If ever there was a reason to have a riving knife on a saw, that's it.

I found some 1 3/4 round hand rail with small flat that would be easy to rip. A lot of waste though.

Find any?

I was looking at moulding and trim for my house project and came across some 2" half round at the moulding shop.

Jakmoulding.com has it. But they are in Walstonburg, NC, close to Greenville.

I scored a solid core birch door, and I'm butting it up to counter in my garage. 1/2 round will be the nose

If it's for a garage table made out of a re-purposed door, why not just put a piece of rectangular stock as an edge closeout, then hit it with a roundover bit on the top edge?

I'm late to the conversation, but gonna suggest an entirely different direction, I cover the edges of my benches I make with aluminum angle, like this;

Shop Steelworks 8-ft x 2-in Aluminum Solid Angle at Lowes.com

It does make sweeping dust and debris off them harder, (Have to go to an edge that doesn't have it) but it's more durable than wood, and easier to work with for us non carpenter types...

How about glueing two pieces of 1/4 round together? Buy it at any home improvement store cheap. Actually, if you want to exactly match the profile of the counter beside it, it looks like 1/4 round and square stock glued together will fit the bill.

1/4 round I have found is much too small. If I remember correctly it's .558 or something. 2 pieces glued together may be 1/2 of a 1" wooden dowel (At least at Lowes...Shhhhh HD is twice as far away from me)
