10 worst places in NC to live.

They're gentrifying the hell out of Kinston. I could think of several other places I wouldn't live.

It's happening everywhere. Pretty sad really. Developers in SE Raleigh are pushing the black folks out as hard and as fast as they can. The local governments make a big to-do about needing affordable housing, all the while allowing/incentivising developers to build in historically poor black neighborhoods.

My buddy used to go to school in Durham in the 90s. He wears that like a badge of honor. "Have you ridden the bus in Durham before? If you haven't, don't talk to me about sketchy situations."

I can't watch it at work, but I hope it lists Asheville.
Nope. And I know why you would HOPE he lists Asheville, because of your opposition to liberal agenda cities....but it's not that kind of perspective. At all.

While the cities he lists have an overwhelming population of democrats....it's the poor kind of democrats. Not the kind that live in Asheville that drive electric cars and drink ONLY craft beer with man buns.

I personally applaud him for warning outsiders about the cities he listed. I personally believe it IS the outsiders that contributed to so much of the ruination of our state (Go home Ohio!!!)

Anyone know how many signatures one would need to receive in order to get their area represented in his "shit hole list"? Id like to get mine listed so the Yankees will look elsewhere.

We bought another property last May.Its an old store building my great grand father built back in the 40's.About a month later the place beside the one we bought sold too.It took a while but the house sold and back at Christmas we met the neighbor's that bought the house,He is from IL and she's from AZ.The propery had a huge shop on two acres they didnt buy.Found out this week some folks from FL have bought and are living in the shop in their camper till they start on their house this spring. Our place is not a dump by any means and I keep the yard mowed and things picked up but it has 1940's windows in it and its dated.Im waiting on one of the new neighbors so say something about the appearance of it.We have a friend that's in the auction/real estate buisness and she says the housing market is stupid busy around here. They have sold multiple property's to out of stater's who have never saw the place in person.Alot of them the first day they were listed and at asking price.

Pshhh.

Way to bring politics into it. But yeah, unbathed liberal hippies are the worst. (Edit - Actually, smarmy, cultured, suit wearing 'better than thou' liberals are the worst as well. So I guess I'm an equal opportunity despiser.)

Personally, I'd hope it'd stop driving home prices up within 50 miles of the city. Including where I live. :p I do have a buffalo ranch to buy eventually. And land/home prices are ridiculous around here.

I can't believe the City is letting people sell their property for market value.

The "I'm so far out of touch with reality but I share the burden of the poor and needy.....where's my $9 chi-latte bitch?!?!" can suck a tube steak. Wait....N/M that is usually routine for them.

The Ghetto is hard to get out of. Not particularly because it's hard to rise up out of it....I did it. But because the system is SO very easy to manipulate to your favor. It takes little to no effort to perpetuate ghetto living if you're not opposed to the conditions. I mean, you can have free housing, free food, free cable, and get paid. But..the trade off is pretty shitty living conditions. But that too is changing with the Housing and urban development bonds and the push to increase section 8 funding. Right now section 8 will pay up to $1200 in Winston. Ironically all the new high rise apartments that are part of the revitalization of downtown are between $1000-$1200 a month. šŸ¤”

Oh come on now. Gastonia isnt that bad honestly. Some areas? Sure. But not the city in it's entirety.

To clarify, I do not live in Gastonia.

Where I live probably should have been on the list too, lol.

Same thing happening around here too. I see apartment complex with zero flashy advertising or a with out a community name that looks very nice and shiny = subsidized housing. Of course people cry about it because they have to move but that looks like a better situation to be in rather than the brick dumpsters they were trashing originally.

Not that shit BBQ though.
I tend to agree. I have only lived in Lexington since 2002 and I still dont like this red bullshit we have here. I grew up with the eastern style.
