2021 Ram TRX

And yet it'll likely cost you over $100k

But then again, a loaded F450 will cost that as well. But you can at LEAST use it for work/tow/more than 6 bales of straw.

But really, Jay's about the only one on the whole forum that IS the target audience AND is in the tax bracket to buy one :huggy::driver:

And, if I remember correctly he is in fact using his dessert racing truck (Raptor) to tow his actual dessert racer.

TRX is a $90k race truck. You can go to Lowe’s in it if you choose, or force it to tow your Buggy, but you’re buying a race truck. It’s not designed, engineered, or marketed to those needing something besides that. It’s a niche crowd that will like it.

Dont you tow with a raptor? :flipoff2:

Cool seeing another player in the market for sure. Chevys answer was probably the most god awful abortion of a truck i have ever seen.

I think it is an awesome truck, and I would love to own one, but I would have to hang myself after spending that much money on a depreciating asset.

Maybe if Ford would put more stickers on a 250 I would have traded for one of those.

More hood scoops than tow points? ✔️
Blatant overkill on dinosaur theme? ✔️
Marketed as a “desert racer” for the East Coast tool who will not race it? ✔️

Sign. Me. Up.

That’s real professional desert racer money, not pretend east coast wanna be desert racer money. So I’ll just side-eye it at Cars & Coffee and pretend that I don’t like it.

The negative though is I maaaaaaaax out my towing capacity and you can’t put airbags on the raptor without defeating the racing suspension. So it’s really a terrible concept.

HOWEVER.... once out in the desert and unhooked from the trailer it truly is a bad ass taxi from location to location on the race course.

Am I the only one having flashbacks to the Lightning/SRT10 days?

I remember those trucks produced some real gold in regards to videos of idiots who couldn’t handle them, doing a rolling burnout and it getting away from them. Several clips on YouTube. Much like when a Mustang hits 2nd gear.

Speaking on behalf of the actual dessert racers, I would like to state that the desert racers are probably offended.

No worries...that's all we do to all your toys :huggy::rockon: Sit back...talk about how WE would never waste money on them, while secretly whimpering about wishing WE had a desert race car and good looks to go along with them

No kidding. Still trying to figure out what business he’s in or what lottery he won. Basically what the heck are we doing wrong?? Lol.

Always happy to see someone do well and never hate, but it ALWAYS leaves me so dang curious about things that aren’t my business!

Step 1) Be pretty
Step 2) See step 1

If you're in to Ford race engines, Charlie (and Lem) Evans is right up there with Jon Kaase. Charlie was not hurting for reach or business and has already made his career. He gets a new driver/wrencher for one of his cars...just happens to be a blonde female that is veeeery pleasing to the eye. She started popping up in photos, Charlie's viewership/reach increased exponentially. Sex sells.

The annoying guy in the video called it the T-R-X. Years ago Dodge had a concept truck called the T-Rex, so maybe that's why they didn't use it

ok so be honest, how many of you would take it and keep it if it were offered free? i would happily fork out 100k for it. this truck is going to be historic. like the demon or super bird or whatever junk ford pushed out lol jk.

TRX=Totally Retarded Xperiment

I'd drive it.

I would take a Chevette if it was free. I would also love to have one of these, but I don't need one and certainly wouldn't be able to use it like it was meant to be used. Hell I already have more truck than I need. And calling it (or the demon for that matter) historic is a big stretch.

stretch maybe, but not a big stretch. look what the raptor did. it created an entire vehicle segment. similar to the corvette and tbird. or the caravan. i honestly think we're witnessing the start of a new horsepower war only this time with trucks. imo. but you may be right and im just a hopeful mopar fan. idk.

I’d drive it every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Would I utilize it, no...would it do what I need a truck for, probably not. Doubtful it revolutionizes a market...but it might make Ford try innovating a little harder on truck V8’s, and force them to be more competitive than they wanted to be.

I'd take it, and sell it to YOU for $90k and invest in much more practical applications. But that's just me.
Plus..I can't be trusted with high horsepower. I'm a 10yr in a fat middle aged body. But my inner "dad" has come out enough to acknowledge my weaknesses and TRY to keep me from them

That is sexy AF.... but like what @CasterTroy said....dunno if I can be trusted with high horsepower these days. The 400 hp in my current Ram is good enough for me. Besides that, I can't afford it lmao.

dunno if I can be trusted with high horsepower these days.

I'd be willing to bet that will be the case for 90%+ of the buyers too. The number of guys that think their 'big block builds' are stupid fast and every bit of 750hp that end up seeing sub-500hp on dyno day...and they can't even drive that. I'm not seeing how soccer dad, clinging to his youth and yearning to be cool, will do any better. I know this, because he is me.
