Spent all weekend checking things off the list, motor is still running rough, and my fresh cooks tranny has no reverse

No Dixie run this year

Looks great Guff! Sorry to hear about the trans.

Looks good Guff. Have ya warmed the trans up and drove it around fwd? Sometimes they use a grease for assembly that takes a few min hot before getting full function. Hopefully thats it and you dont have to pull the trans.

Too bad Aaron couldnt tune it while it was at Metalwerx.

I did get it to start pulling in reverse when it warmed up, but you let it cool off and you have to rev it up a lot to get it to move again

The buggy looks great! You and Scott did a great job!

That sucks about the tranny, I have had zero issues with my cooks tranny. Are you using the fluid that he recommends?
I know he will stand behind it, but still sucks.

Looking wicked man! Nice skins! The trans should work fine when cold and not need to warm up. It's always something....

Isn't this the second cooks tranny you've had basically the same trouble out of?
My thoughts as well.
Guff was gonna take me to the Prom in this rig.
Now, i get to ride in a cab.
Terrible...

This is the exact same tranny, it came out of the yj, I ran it low on fluid when a seal went bad between the transmisson and transfer case, it burnt the clutches up

It looks like "I" screwed this one when I put it together, I used washers between the flexplate and the torque converter mounting holes, It jammed the converter snout to far into the tranny and damaged the pump

Bobby from cooks is a standup guy, I told him what was going on over the phone, he told me what to look for, sure enough I pulled a dumbass move:shaking:

I took the washers out reinstalled the torque converter mounting bolts to the flexplate, it immediately started pulling in reverse, but it's making a terrible noise, pulling it on Saturday

Your prom ride will have to wait!!!!

My prom ride is finally ready! See you in the morning bro.
