Well here we go, some of you guys remember I started building a buggy about 6 years ago, with the help from RIDES, and Scott Thomas now MetalWerx Design and Fab

After loosing my job and ending a longterm relationship where some kids were involved I sold this buggy 4 years ago

Last year built a nice YJ, that was a 2 seater, well I am married now and have 2 new kids and a new job, so I kept tabs on the guy that bought this buggy unfinished, he called me about 2 months ago and said he was looking to sell the buggy, and it was still unfinished and never wheeled, he made a few changes that I liked and did a few things that I didn't like

So I sold the YJ local to a guy, and made the trip down to Raleigh to get this buggy back

This is what it looked like 6 years ago

Here is what it looked like when I picked it up, he took the air shocks off and put ORI's on it, which was a plus, he also put steering Rockwells under it and it sat a little to tall for me, and I am not a fan of Rockwells

Fast forward to now, I got it home and debated on finishing it up and wheeling it like it was, steering Rocks, 44" TSL's, 16.5 H1's, 6.0, turbo 350, 203/205 doubler

NOPE, not gonna happen, sold a bunch of the other stuff on it and started tearing it down to make it mine again

Plans, CUCV 60 and a 14 bolt, funny story, I actually bought back the 14 bolt that was under it when I sold it from Dave at Oliver's, long story
the 60 will have 4340 inners and outers, Yukon super joints, Spartan locker, and a bunch of other ECGS goodies, thanks Chase, and some brackets and cover from Barnes4wd

6.0, jims tune and harness, Cooks turbo 350, Atlas 4-speed, TMI customs 17" Beadlocks, and 43" SX's, Thanks Brandon at RIDES, and I am lowering it back down

here is how she sits now

Still looks good, pretty much switching out drive train...we should be on trails about same time!!! Let's go to windrock!!

Glad you got it back and will be wheeling it soon!

like.

When I first started wheeling I went to rides for wheels and tires for the XJ. This buggy was sitting in the back just like it was in those first pictures. Didn't realize that was yours.I dig it. Hurry up. LOL

Damn you were suppose to be riding w/ us tomorrow.:flipoff2:

There was a guy on here had a brand new 4-speed atlas for sale. Gonoverit maybe? Don't know if it sold.
Just wondering why the 4-speed? I was looking to put one in mine but was talked out of it believe it or not by the guys at Advance Adapters.

BTW looking good. Keep up updated.

Josh sold that atlas, and it was a driver drop anyway, I need passenger drop
Two reasons for the four speed, gearing options on a 2.0 can go like this

1-1, 2.0-1, 3.8-1, 5.44-1

I may never use the 5.44-1 around here, our style of wheeling, but I plan on keeping the 4.56 gears, also plan on taking a trip out west, would love the option of that lower gear to crawl some rocks

Not much difference in price $800-$10000 difference from the 2 speed to 4 speed

I'm just going by what the guys at Advance told me. They told me not to waste my money believe it or not. I know two people w/ 4-speeds one likes it but never uses it and the other said it was a waste of money. Both running autos.

I'm running 4.56 gears in my axles and 3.8 2-speed and am extremely happy w/ my gearing. I wheel mostly in 2nd and can really crawl in 1st. Guess the only difference in my transmission. I'm running a t-18 w/ 6.32 1st and 3.09 second. I'm guessing your running an automatic. I don't really know how the gearing and the torque converter come into play on an auto. Never have studied it.

Just passing on the info and experience I've recieved through my build.

You missed a hell of a ride today. There was a bunch of rockwell buggies there. Seen one outer broke on one.

Beadlocks look killer.

Bout damn time you finished it.
Do not forget who has shotgun in this rig on Bee's Nest.
;)

Really glad to see you got this thing back!

You will love the 4sp with the 4.56's, give a shout when you're ready.
