4 Wheel Parts Undercover Boss **Time Changed to 1:30 AM

Adler must be a pretty good guy looks like he took pretty good care of his staff.

So I guess the time didn't change? I guess I missed it then.

That was terrible. I hate how they always give crap away to the employees. Good job on Eric recognizing Greg.

looking forward to seeing it. wish we had a cool store like that here in Fayetteville, all these young GI's with $$ and all we have is pepboys lol

( We have a couple shops but no nice big show rooms etc.)

Business opportunity for you? Open one!

Not a bash on the chain but I have never had much use for 4WP. The stores do not really stock much (I completely understand why) and since I do not have a Jeep or domestic there's not much of anything there for me to purchase.

Always thought of 4wp as the auto zone of 4x4s. Sell a lot of shiny things but no one who actually knows much about it.
I'd like to watch the episode. Guess I'll have to wait till it hits Netflix.

They know they're on camera, they usually tell them their on some contest/gameshow or something of the like. So they know they are being filmed bit think it's for something else. I think it's all scripted for the most part. The show has been around so long idk how people don't know.

It was not scripted. Your right, they try to say it's another tv show. We picked it out pretty quick. Not really sure how most people are tricked.

I only watched because I was at someone else's house that watched. So you're telling me it's normal for people to open up to a complete stranger about their most personal issues in front of a tv camera? I call bs on that.
I think if they're smart and seen the show before that's exactly what they do. I'd be making up a great sob story hoping to get a big cash gift from the boss. "What, you're the owner? I thought you were just a friendly stranger in a wig".

It was interesting to watch and Greg Adler seems like a nice guy. My dealings with 4WP are limited to the Raleigh shop and I have nothing but good things to say about my experiences as a customer or their support of the forum. They've been instrumental in the annual 12 Days of NC4x4 giveaways and @greg slade is always willing to help out if I have ideas or questions I need to bounce off someone.

I will now gladly go back to ignoring most network television.

I wonder how much the corporations pay to do the show?

Here is your answer:

Requirements:

  • The company must have about 1,000 employees – preferably more.

  • The company must earn about $250 million in revenue. Larger is preferred.

  • The participating undercover boss must be at the C-level or near it. Higher-ranking bosses are preferred.

  • The filming and production process requires eight to 10 days of the boss’ time.

  • At the end of the program, the featured company must give back $200,000 or more in total “rewards” to up to five employees.
It DOES NOT Cost the company any money to be on it..

Personally - I think this is what ruins the show. While I think it is great when and if a boss wants to generous to their hard-working employees who could use a helping hand, it's this kind of scripted "generosity" that just feeds the sense of entitlement that our society seems to have.
To whatever level this show isn't scripted... I'm sure that once these folks figure out what's going on, which, as mentioned above they'd have to be complete dolts not to, they know that if they have a good sob story it will result in a nice payout.

The general idea of the show is fantastic. And it's great if some boss really has "their eyes opened up" to the way things really work in their company. But the execution is just terrible.

I say no cameras, just reenactment like the classic TV "Rescue......911!"
