4X4 cross URE stables

can't we all just get along:driver: big ups for the volunteers and all the sponsers who stepped up to make the event work, had a great time bringin the heat in the jeeps. Only negative was the was the second year that they did not present trophies to the winners of the 4x4cross race. Parts break, marriages end, but trophies last forever....

Phew just got back home fro ma looong drive after a looong FUN weekend.

I'm working on the cab-cam video I have, from the Early Bronco run, and from my own.
Unf teh one from mine was shaking pretty bad (imagine that) and may not be real usable.

In all the time to myself getting home today, I thought up a big long list of issues (good and bad) to point out for consideration for future years, but that's prob another thread.

Nope i highly doubt that, I would rather go stay in the woods, might be better for for me since im not part of the good ole boy system that obviosly goes on there( not directed to you miles) there were way too many pricks. Dont really want too point fingers. No matter how gig the event is if they cant do better than that then they were unprepared. NOT regarding all conditons. They need to remember that the paying spectator is the reason they are there. Without there dollar it all stops. I aint teryin to piss paople off, i respect everyone and expect that in return, if not i will not put myself in that situation again
Help work the event next time and you might change your mind! Ain't being a smartass. Later,Paul

My self and mike, with our wives were sitting down there SInce 10 o clock when woody rolled, i was the first down there, and i was thanking god that he came up, i was kicking off my boots and grabbing my knife when he came up, after wards paople flooded the area, lorenzo told everyone to move and i did back up too my chairs, the horsebak rent a cops came , started yelling at us, stomped on our stuff and scared the crap out of us and our dog, very unprofessional, i was super pissed, too beat it all someone came roaring up in a buggy and just about ran over a few people, we addressed our concerns to the staff, didnt seem to care.I was told that johny the owner would not care anyways. The cross was really hard to wach, not many veiw points at all. Bottom line Stables will Never get another dime from me, I will not be disrespected or herded like a damn cow. Lorenzo seemed to do a really good job, thanks for the show racers
One of the BDB guys in the buggy is probably what come down into the trails, they were sent down there to get woody's rig out of the water. Everyone started storming into the woods and getting all on the trails so the horses were sent in to clear the way for the buggy to come pull the rig out of the water and to clear any spectators out of harms way. When did you express your concerns to a staff member? If it was at the current moment everything was going down, they were all probably caught up in the moment of a rig being upside down in the pond. Ive been to a couple of events where the BDB guys are organizing things and they always seem to do a good job at doing their best to keep things in order.

The folks i run with are DEDICATED to safety! The call on the radio was that someone had rolled in the pond and was still in it. How fast would u move?

I was standing there when Woody took off and there right about he got out of the water. Pony cops were a bit over the top but the situation warranted it. Got some pics of Aquaman and we were all a bit scared at that moment. Main thing I had with was no racers being announced (unlike the mud), no times announced (unlike the mud) 15 racers in the first 2.5 hours (unlike the mud) letting the Razrs go in the middle of the A class and generally less organized than the mud. i know the response will be help next time but damn sitting around for 20-30 mins between runs was pretty damn boring. Next time have a designated spectator area and no rigs, too many kids zipping around on 4 wheelers. Keep the flow going would help out. We bolted at 430 and the C/D class still had 4-5 more to go. A full 5-6 hours after the first racer. Good time and I know it was hard work for all involved!

so to the racers that were in last years event and this years, which course was more challanging? which more fun. looking at one of the dash cams from this year it looked like it could be run in 2wd minus a couple of spots. what did you run the race in? 2hi, 4hi, 4lo? just curious. hats off to everyone who worked at the event.

THANKS to Johnny first, if he hadn't put the time and money into the event it would never had happened. Ricky and lorenzo(sp) thanks for the 4x4 cross. The event was pretty cool and I can't wait for the next one. Things were alot soother this year than last. The BDB need HUGE props for helping with anything and everything at this years event, without a well organized group like you guys it would almost be impossible on ereyone else putting on the event. To the people with gripes and suggestions don't worry they are being adressed, Johnny was out in full force on Sunday after the event asking for input on the next event. He told us about a few things he had planned to grow the event(the fans were high on this plan). PLEASE PLEASE keep things postive so this event will happen again. Johnny also said he liked the group alot more this year because he was having people come up and turn in wallets and self police the woo-hoo people. Thanks for everything to everyone, I cannot wait till next time.

The course this year I think was more of a racers course. The 2wd was the way to go. You could not hold the gas to the floor and drive like you could last year.

It was hard to keep it on the course. Wasen't it Snappy?

It wasn't his fault, his turbo spooled up too fast:flipoff2: , did you ever figure out if they were real arp studs or not?

Had a good time on saturday even though I didn't see that much (got stuck on a trail in the forest behind a broken jeep)

I thought the layout was pretty good but I also think that there wasn't much direction... most of the people who had just come for the day thought that they had to sit in the stands by the mud pit but they wanted to watch the race. They didn't know that there were points set up to watch the race and there wasn't any signs pointing them in the right direction.
I agree that there were way too many kids on quads ripping around and think that they should be banned next year except for event staff or the actual drags.
I would like to give props to Johnny and Ricky for the hard work they did to get this going again this year.

Yes guys we all have talked about the event and how to make some things different. I brought the horses in to clear the crowd for a few good reasons. One being they aint supposed to be down there and two because I needed some rigs to get in position to get Big Woody's rig out.

Also yes this event was smoother than last year by all means. Plus not only were a few wallets but Keys, yes car keys were brought to Jonnie. I don't think we had any fights and people kept cool all around.

One thing I was going to say earlier was I wasn't supposed to let people on the hill but I felt as if there was enough room to do our jobs spotting and getting people lined up. Also it was more fan friendly to get them closer to the action but out of the way in the grass.

Keep it all positive and bring your concerns to myself, Ricky and Jonnie and we WILL rock the event next time.

About the racers not being announced, I switched channels quite a bit to give the guys with the mics some names, but I know I missed a few and I also know it was hard to get them inbetween the engine noise and inbetween announcing the other racers in the mud and tire pull. We're running them pretty close together but of course when people don't know why we're waiting for another racer to go.... usually because someone needs to get pulled off the course has stalled in one area.

I think we had a great event. I was pretty lenient but SAFE with everyone except when big woody hit the quarry.
BTW the only people supposed to be on atv's were us. This will get handled next time.

Great show Ricky and Lorenzo. Excellent job! We had a blast. Can't wait for the next one. How about a Fall race??

Were not ARP studs, but Chase Hooked it up on the spot. Thanks goes to Metto also who helped get up up and running so we could go hit a night run at ure..... Yes it was hard to stay on track with the wheels looking like\/ in direction.

I figured that was the case I did see Gary get on some kids for riding their quads behind the hill so I know the staff was aware of this.
Again overall it was a great show I just wish I could have been there all weekend.

The hill that everyone was on should be off limits next year. Where I was on the road was a much better vantage point anyway. Out of the way, and I could see all the way up the field towards the old farm house as well as the finish line. We should open up a loop so that the onlookers can walk around in peace. The gravel road goes from where I was at the pond all the way around to the top loop and that way they can see and move around at will and not get 'inside' the track. That way you can blow around in an atv and the horses run amuck and nobody thats not involved cares.
Heres how I see it. I had to sit in one spot and get pounds of dirt blown in my face. I sucked exhaust from countless atvs and trucks. I had to get out of the way of wild racers. But it was expected, I moved when it was warranted, was prepared for it, was out of the way of the racers/staff and it didnt bother me a bit. Some things just happen, and you have to be prepared to deal with it.
IF this thing continues to grow and I hope it does, we will gain experience and go from there. Please submit any SOLUTIONS to problems experienced, dont just bitch about them. Keep this positive please.
