4X4Everyone inaugural trip - Labor Day

Guys, I've just finished getting my trail report together and sending it off to Jimmy to add his info. In it if no one has an issue with it being posted I have attached first names and screen names at the end to help put faces, names and screen names together.

Oh, and I was in my wife's Green ZJ.

I didnt take Damien's post to be anything derogatory. It seemed like an honest opinion and a pretty good unbiased outsider opinion. Sounds like he had fun.

not much we can do about the dust. been like that for years.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures. We had one know it all, and few that liked to talk more than wheel, but all in all it was a fun trip. I would recommend the 4x4 everyone group (not sure what it's called. No logo's, stickers, etc.) to people that have made recent changes in their rig or don't want to beat it up(unfortunately I fit both this week), yet still be able to enjoy yourself. Of course the clan did kind of fall apart on my second day of MY trip. Personally i do not feel that tearing my jeep up makes a trail good or not. To me a great ride is a mixture of different landscapes with a large unified group, in trails that require anyone with 35's or less to winch. But as stated this is a personal opinion. 4x4 everyone is a good point to meet up with your specific interests and then depart from the guys that have more or less capability.
Oh and word to the wise anyone on the 'committee', URE has to do something about the dust(water truck) or it will be shut down. DHEC does not play around. As soon as someone like that starts with ure then everybody will jump on the wagon and try to shut it down. Let's not allow this to be another tellico.
I realize that you probably had no prior knowledge of the purpose of our group when you met us at the outpost. We are not a fast paced group looking to solely bust down the trails and tackle the toughest obstacles. Making friends and enjoying the camaraderie on the trails and at camp is part of it too. Our rides will generally be geared to never needing tires bigger than 33" and one locker. We took stock rigs on every trail in URE and helped get everyone though safely and had fun at the same time. If you want more challenge then this may not be the group for you. If you want a great group of people to wheel with then you found it. Many of the people you wheeled with this weekend have many, many, many years of seat time wheeling URE and other places and are here to offer our experience to help others learn how to traverse more difficult section of a trail successfully.
Please feel free to join us again if you wish.

name

I was the 400 lb dude with the wife and two girls. Ricky is my name. My friends call me Boot or Big Boot. Picked it up in high school. what can I say I live and learn. wifes name is Cathy, and Ollie and Cerena, oldest to youngest. We had the bone stock black YJ. we have a few pics and vids will share as soon as the wife teaches me how lol.

I was the short bald guy hopping from jeep to jeep.

Rode shotgun with Jimmy at first, then len enticed me to ride with him by letting me drive some =) thanks Len. I think i rode with Tim to go see Hot Dog guy too.

You'll have those in any group, that is part of the dynamics of any group. I am sometimes all of the above. 4x4 everyone is just that... everyone... If you don't like to stop and chat, meet different types of people, and generally just enjoy the great outdoors at a leisurely pace, I am sure there are a few other groups out there that have none of the things that annoy you.

you are obviously not from around here, URE Area, I am pretty sure the 'committee' isn't likely to purchase a water truck to keep the dust down in the near future. The roads have been dusty since the gold mining and logging days, probably some 150 years or so. If it rains, the roads are not too bad for a couple of hours until they dry out. We are on good terms with the FS in this part of NC and they are very receptive to ideas on how to improve the trail system here. There is a lot more to Tellico thing than is generally known, politics, politicians, and who has the most $$ played a large part in the closure of Tellico.
I don't mean to sound like an a$$, but really don't care if I do, but you were a visitor to our neck of the woods and have the nerve to talk crap about some of our other visitors, then want to give us advice on what our "committee" should be doing... Sounds like there might have been two "know-it-alls" up there this weekend...

Names Josh and I drove the "Desert Pearl Coat" TJ on Sunday. I know I know just don't call her gold lol.

I took a lesson from Jason.... IF YOU DON"T LIKE THE DUST put your top back on! Plus I have to wear dress slacks and that dirt dont come out easy!

I am the other Ricky.. My wife is Lori.
We had the black LJ on Saturday.

Also, at the double parking lot, we didn't intend to be unsocial :alien: , we just wanted to be in the shade.

Thanks., Ricky

It's my fault you didn't ride with Tim, I had you hooked on the ZJ.:D

With or without passenger, I still had a great time.
I was able to briefly see BigRed Saturday morning before he left for home.

Wonderful times, I sure do miss it.

Looks like I missed out on some fun, glad you guys had a blast. Its always a great time wheeling with this group, would have been weird though seeing Jimmy in something besides the Willys. :driver:

I know Ed doesn't post much on here, did he end up making it? Haven't seen his Bronco around on the trails for a while.

Hope to see you guys in October for the Hallo'wharrie trip or on one of the work days coming up.
