700hp Challenger Hellcat

I wonder what it'd do against a ZR1.... It's a sweet ass car for sure though and about half the price of a ZR1 too. I read they were projecting the price to be less than 60k. If that's true, then Mopar really just set the bar.

I was told the Super Snake mustang blew it away. Not sure of the truth to that.

Either way I'd love to have that supercharged hemi stuffed into a JK with tons!

I love that they give you two keys for it. One that allows for all 700+ horsepower and the other that limits it to 500 or so. That way you can give your snot-nosed 16 year old kid (or valet) the 500 horsepower key and he still is driving a tire-shredding muscle car. You really want a valet key? Give em one that turns it into a Dodge Omni.... LOL

15.4" brakes at all 4 corners...
And what I thought were a second set of lights are actually intakes!

The car has already been through the magazine tests, $59,500 msrp and a 11.2 quarter mile on street tires. That's faster than a viper, z06, zr1, etc., the consensus on the twisty track is that the car is what it is- designed as a throw back to the muscle car era. It's not horrible on a race course, but it won't keep up with a factory track prepped car (gt2, gt3, z06, zr1).

Since 99.999999999% of sports car owners will never take their car on a race course, I bet the new hellcat equipped cars will put a healthy amount of smiles in their owners faces. Dodge has already submitted the paperwork to put them into the 4 door Chargers as well.

Yes you can buy Camaro ZL1 and then take and have it tuned, or a Mustang and pay Shelby to tune it for another 30k. But what Dodge is offering is 700 HP off the showroom floor with a warranty. To me thats bringing back the true muscle car war. Yes there are others out there with more HP and if you got 100k to drop then go ahead. I feel the sales of the hellcat aren't going to suffer much. Even with a lil dealer markup....

My thoughts exactly! There are way faster cars out there with 1000hp+, but 700hp with a warranty is a huge selling point IMO.
Its not like I'll ever be able to get one anyways...

Superchargers are nice, but I'd like to see the manufacturers put a 600+ horsepower N/A engine into a Challenger or Camaro from the factory. :fuck-you:

In the meantime, I'll take one of these new Challengers.

Here's Jay Leno's experience in it:

We had a 2010 twin turbo V12 Mercedes SL600 in the shop awhile back it ran and pulled out smooth but I didn't beat on it, didn't figure I could afford it if I messed it up. Hey let's get a groupbuy on the Hellcat, you know they would be cheaper by the dozen!!
