700hp Challenger Hellcat

I've said it for a long time now....GM needs to let me and a few of my buddies build some cars and trucks for them. I'd make them billions!

Hotrod Article said:
“One of the requirements for the car was that it could handle a 20 minute track session with no loss in horsepower,” said Russ Ruedisueli, Head of SRT Engineering. To achieve this, the Hellcat has a bare grille, to allow maximum airflow.
Its unstoppable, it has Bare Grills. It will probably even drink it's own piss from a snakeskin!

The car has already been through the magazine tests, $59,500 msrp and a 11.2 quarter mile on street tires. That's faster than a viper, z06, zr1, etc., the consensus on the twisty track is that the car is what it is- designed as a throw back to the muscle car era. It's not horrible on a race course, but it won't keep up with a factory track prepped car (gt2, gt3, z06, zr1).

Since 99.999999999% of sports car owners will never take their car on a race course, I bet the new hellcat equipped cars will put a healthy amount of smiles in their owners faces. Dodge has already submitted the paperwork to put them into the 4 door Chargers as well.
my old nova must be a little badder than i thought,it turns the same times with out the nitrous.my guess is if you put a set of drag radials or set of slicks on that thing you could shave a good bit off that time.

10.8 on drag radials NHRA certified not too shabby to have a 3/36 backing it up!! If it wasn't for this nasty off road addiction I am battling I would have one to ride around in and I'm not even a Mopar guy but this thing is sweet!!

...........better put some money into a savings account for the tickets you'll get!!:burnout:

Well, that was fast. Dodge released the new Hellcat Charger today- Fastest 4 door sedan ever made. Does 204mph and is faster in the 1/4 mile than the Challenger (11.0 on factory street tires). One of only two cars in the world that has 4 doors and does 200+mph.

I love what they are doing- "creating a car with no business case, just because we wanted to".

Oh that is sweet, I wanted the Challenger but now I want the Charger. I'm a big Mopar guy so I guess I will have to get both.

It would suck so bad to ride in the backseat.

Agreed. Love what Dodge is doing. And dropping two cars on us of this caliber at the same time= badass. Ford, Chebby, take note. :usa: f'n 'murica.

but think of what that'll be worth in 25 years when that car reaches classic car status.....

I think we'll see the biggest changes in automotive history over the next 25 years- A la hybrid, electric, hydro. The technological and Big Government slope is so steep now that regulations, laws, etc could make these things obsolete instead of prized collections.

Or then again it could be worth $1,000,000.

Thats true provided its not been wrecked, stolen,or thrashed to death. It would be hard for me to have a 700hp anything and not get it out and beat on it some.:driver::driver:

I agree with the big changes, and honestly welcome them for daily drivers. On the other hand with electric cars becoming the norm, I see it driving the cost of true hot rods and classics through the roof.

Hopefully whoever spent that much money on the FIL production car has enough sense not to.... and probably more than enough money to buy a second one to trash the hell out of.....
