90's throw back.....Manche build

With the engine placement, it's gonna be like a van with a dog box between driver and passenger. Seems you'd have to, in order to do any kinda maintenance.

Exactly.

Am I the only one that is disappointed in this build I mean look at that drag link you might as well used duct tape and bubble gum other than that it's looking good but you need to pick up the pace

Well, I've finally got all my geometry mapped out. I've been eyeballing this subframe from Goatbuilt for months. And after doing all the geo, it looks like his subframe is going to work on the money. It is soon to be on the way from Wisconsin....along with skids, engine cross member, atlas support, fuel cell with the ring to use a factory gm internal fuel pump([emoji41] ) and a few other trinkets. Drew, the owner, has some ingenious solutions to building a buggy. Also very easy to speak with, and excited that I have build threads to show my work.

The geometry is nearly identical, front and rear, with adjustment. For my current layout at 115"wb, 18-19" belly, in the center adj hole-
72% antisquat/dive, with -2°,-4° understeer rear/front respectively. I'm pretty stoked that all this will work with the Goatbuilt unit.

Seriously! You are not making all your stuff? and I am supposed to be impressed!? Pahlease! I'll never be able to look at your build the same again.
But, hmmm it might go together quicker, sooo I will let it slide if it gets you back on the trails quicker!

I've actually been planning around this frame the entire thought process, therefore so much time took to get everything exactly where it is. I'm just excited that it will work.

Back up plan was scratch built, with round tube, slugged with 7075 al rod. I still have plans to implement that process throughout the build as well.

Modular.?. Subframe. Damn sumbody done built that...my whole idea still hatching in my brain revolves around a very modular subframe design. I like it.

Got a great little pallet of stuff yesterday. Will have progress pics next week....finally. Appreciate all the interest and patience.

Thanks Drew at Goatbuilt for the fast shipping and great product and excellent packaging.

Wow...lots of welding today.

First I must say, I am truly impressed with this sub-frame! I can only imagine the time Drew spent at the drawing board for this unit. The most impressive design cue to me as a welder, is that he has engineered it so that there will be full penetration on ALL welds. Which tells me he's not just a smart guy with 3d modeling, but a builder as well! I can truly appreciate the work he put into designing this and I must say he should charge double for the sub-frame alone!

Pic heavy..

That is awesome. I'm wondering how the geometry would work in a rear engine configuration. How much did you put in the calculator before pulling the trigger and purchasing.

I know companies aren't big on relaxing dimensions prior to purchase, but I wouldn't want to buy it, only to want to redesign it.

Awesome work man, a heck of a build.
